The Legend of Monkey Island, Tall Tale#3 , Bug getting stuck in the air after resurrection

As the title suggests, when I played The Legend of Monkey Island, after falling off a cliff, I died and was resurrected in front of a boat across the river, unable to navigate or even open the menu, looking like I was floating above the ground. I play on a PC and use the keys to select all the items in my inverter. This way I was able to kill myself with grenades, was reborn in the same place and everything was fine. The next time I died, it happened again, but this time I no longer had grenades. Thus, I had to reset the walkthrough and end the game through the task manager.
