So I've recently been forced to downgrade to an old 1280x1024 monitor, but my game is locked at a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is not used for 1280x1024 and I have giant black bars on my screen.
Adjustable Aspect Ratio
I'm not sure if you have nvidia or not but if you do open nvidia control panel on the left side it should have 3 categories 3d settings display and video under display there should be "Adjust desktop size and position" click on that the it will say "apply the following settings" you will have 4 options
Aspect ration>
Full-screen>
No scalling>
Intenger scaling<
You will need to check the circle of full screen your monitor will black out and ask you to apply or revert changes click yes and anything lower than 2560x1440 will be filled out.
