Putting crates on the anchor

  • I know Rare is trying to fix turtling but it's still being used, while trying to fix that you took away the ability of putting crates on the anchor. I honestly dont understand why you all keep changing this game so drastically.

  • They decided that the ability to stack crates on the anchor to deter players from anchoring you was not the intended use of the crates nor the desired interaction they wanted so they removed that exploit.

  • No difference nothing should go on anchor

  • @stormedvixen86 this was removed a few months ago and the community didn’t care.

  • @stormedvixen86 it was considered an exploit. It was a cheesy and cheap way of protecting your anchor so you didn't have too in person. They fixed it and the game is better for it.

  • It was "fixed" because it was an exploit in the pvp community didnt like, mainly boards & spawn killers.
Meanwhile...about 6 other exploits that break the game in pvp are unchanged and remain. 2 are kept because they make the game.

  • I always saw it as a thing that was a non issue, and lead to some funny moments when people were about to crash and tried to anchor them selves, but its not too serious of a fix. I will miss watching people crash them selves because of it.

  • @captain-coel it wasn't "a few months ago" it was when they did a fix due to turtling. They never fixed the turtling issue but took away putting stuff on the anchor and I'm part of this community, been playing for a solid almost 5 years. It's a tactic that literally everyone can do. Stop complaining like babies and just play the game.

  • @ajm123 if you don't like it, don't play simple as that. You can do it just as easily...

  • If someone was on my ship I was usually gonna get sunk whether they could anchor me or not 😂

I said nothing about "a few months ago". It WAS a tactic anyone could do. It WAS a tactic that was deemed an exploit. Now it has been fixed. Sounds like you should take your own advice and "just play the game".

They just caved to the crybaby chasers that couldn't ambush properly like pushing loot out of the red.

Whaaaaaaah someone was watching the horizon like you're

    supposed to and took action.

Whaaaaah someone understands the game and outplayed you.

Floating Barrels are a weak sauce move too.

I'm done explaining to weak sauce sailors. I didn't use the capstan because people didn't get aboard my ship.

It wasnt "caving", it was fixing something they viewed as an exploit. Thats what we should want Rare doing.

  • @captain-coel

Pushing loot out was a cave.
You've heard my suggestion. There was a challenge instead of awarding following someone. It could have been dealt with better.

I do still need to poke the despawn wall with a stick and some loot tho.

  • Their strength isn't PR on changes like this is the main issue

They could just make changes and say that they want to approach things in a new way

but they feed into the whole "exploit" thing after it was clearly a tools not rules thing for years just like the red sea

They get themselves involved in the us vs them drama games too much between content creators/pvpers and pvers. It just builds resentment in the community and amplifies bickering.

With the anchor they did their standard quiet routine and just let people fight it out and with the red sea they did the "hahaha runners" thing

Clear messaging that doesn't play into memes and sides where they explain why they decided to do things in a serious way and what they hope to see out of it would at least be a serious attempt to move forward with changes. It's more a communications issue than anything.

    This. 👆

I did cut some things because @WolfManbush is a little verbose.

To quote a wonderful post you once made

    "Don't negate my verbosity."

  • @wolfmanbush sometimes the point needs to be made without a speech. 💜

The verbose and the terse need each other to flourish just like pve and pvp.
