Tucker Commendation at the Veil Fortress Last Night

  • To the pirate who, I believe, stole my rowboat, tucked on the Veil fortress, and made off with the chest of legends...

Thank you for leaving my stone and allowing me to finish the voyage. That is really what I wanted and, as my first time doing it, I didn't even realize what I had lost until later. I tip my hat to you and hope you had fun watching me struggle!

    Until we never meet again!

  • I love tucking, because it's not about stealing all the loot and progress, it's about proving you can steal something.

To me, it's usually about whether or not the other crew notices or not, their skill level, the amount of loot and (perceived) value.

Sometimes I'll steal, and make sure they don't see, but other times I'll make sure they do see. Guess it depends on the crew and circumstances, but sometimes the laughs are better than loot.

    As far as being stolen from, the only Chest of Legends I (we) have lost was in an alliance situation. I've never personally lost one and turned in at least 150 or maybe 250. I did get yoinked of a rowboat full of mediocre around like 6 months ago (they missed the ashen winds skull and stronghold stuff I had on another island). ;

Doing the Fortress portion of the Veil solo for the first time was a bit rough. Getting pounded by cannons on both sides didn't give me time to see where on the fortress he had hidden. He wasn't on my boat, as his mermaid remained near the central structure and didn't follow me. I was chatting to him but had no opportunity to oppose them as I fired on the structure and desperately bailed and patched.

I'm sure he just shook his head at my struggle and waited much longer than he thought necessary. As much as I could use the Athena rep (only lvl 6 since old legend voyages just take too long), I just wanted the voyage's completion. Now that we have the Captaincy voyages and the Veil (I just returned after a hiatus), I will surely work on Athena rank more often.

I wish I could have seen him running off for the comedic value, or that he would have chatted back by voice or text. Would have made the fact I never saw him even better.

  • @capn-cayde you’re welcome ;)

Yeah, some pirates are all business, and work hard to not mess anything up. Maybe they needed Athena rep badly?. :D

  • One funny story about a "stolen" athena....there was an active FoTD with 3 galleons allianced, stacking.
I shot over to the first galleon. Captain was sitting in chair with athena in front of him, afk. One blundered him, jumped off with athena.
Swam halfway to seapost, had to let go of athena to surface because of sharks.
Three minutes later was hit by 3 snipers shots simultaneously, they were following me the entire way well behind, and were playing me. Said they only knew because of the athena surfacing. :)

  • @tesiccl
If it was you, well done, sir. I need you to teach me your ways. Or show me where I can find a clip of your shenanigans!

  • @unleet1
Letting you think that you nearly got away!
