Add more “beauty and charm”

    Not sure the name for the random events in this game like kraken, skeleton ships, Meg, Storm, fog, etc.

    But there should be more events that only exist to add more beauty to the game and serve no gameplay purposes at all. And they can be rare. Like the occasional whale breaching, or a school of fish jumping near your ship. Maybe a pod of dolphin. Or imagine a meteor shower at night, or even the occasional shooting star. Bioluminescence in the water at night. Rainbows after a storm. Birds? Like seagulls or pelicans flying overhead.

    They could just be random occurrences that happen occasionally in random parts of the map like the other stuff we have now. Maybe the server couldn’t handle more than what we have, so it’s only worth adding things that add to gameplay… but if possible these little things would just make the world so much more alive and enjoyable.

    This is really such a chill and relaxing game at heart, and would be great to see more additions to add to that experience

    The reason some of these things are not in the game is that there is a memory limitation with lower spec builds of the game they need to account for with the updates, with the xbox one generation of consoles having production stopped in jan of last year and end of life expected to last at most 2 more years; its just a matter of waiting out this limit to allow them to take advantage of more memory space to play with whilst keeping both client and server sides stable with all that is going on with each session that is spooled up.

    All that said, yes I would love to see more dynamic and spontaneous creature and world events as you sail once it can be worked in proper.

    @th3xr34p3r that’s really unfortunate if that’s the case. You’d think they could attempt to pool people into “next Gen servers” or something that could handle it

    @koofnoof They don't want to separate people too much even with the preference option to be on PC, Xbox or Cross-Platform sessions. Its one reason why they took out Arena as well.

    We just need to wait things out a little with them see if they can get more to use with the weakest system in the chain come time at that point. The main reason I mentioned it was because they kept saying how annoying it was to cut features on release that had to be slowly added back like the fires and breaking of masts that was in the unity build they prototyped with until they moved to unreal.

    I can get behind some of this for sure, but knowing the lore of the wilds, seeing meteors is a bad omen for the sea of thieves!
