Order of Souls chest idea

  • Can we please give Order Of Souls their own chests if possible? We got chests for Merchants and Gold Hoarders both already, and Athena's Fortune and Reaper Bones as well. So it's honestly kinda unfair that Order Of Souls only got stuck with small things, skulls in their case. So to make things a bit more fair for them, can we add chests for them as well if possible? I was thinking of maybe Burial Vaults, like where you store the ashes of the dead and their belongings from then they were alive. Could that help with giving Order Of Souls their own chests? Hope my idea was able to be helpful here.

  • I dont think the merchants really have chests, more just crates. I dont think its unfair that the order only has trinket items considering they all have the same value individually as any chest or crate, but you can store 3 in a carrier chest to make it even more worth it. Though, as it stands, i would love if they had more items for sure!

  • If OOS got its own chest it should be a cursed item, maybe something that spawns skelly ships on you, but with reduced loot. Or a spawns a FOG around you.

  • I admit, I was surprised that the Crate of Ancient Bone Dust wasn't made as an Order of Souls loot item. It thematically fits with Skulls, and seems like a commodity that the Merchants wouldn't really have an interest in. But, here we are and I don't see it changing. I think the Tridents of Dark Tides would have also made sense to sell to them, in a similar fashion as the Ashen Lord Skulls where the charge that remains decides the value of the item - it is a magical artifact after all which is right in the Order's wheelhouse. Still, I again don't see this actually changing unfortunately.

    It is in a similar vein as my feelings on the Animal Shipment Voyages for the Merchants making more sense as something for the Hunters Call (alongside Fishing). Yet another thing I don't really see ever being changed though, it just is what it is. Monster Hunting would also make a lot of sense for them. Give the Megs and Krakens special Loot they drop (Megalodon Tooth, Kraken Maw) when defeated that can be sold to them. Merchants would still have Cargo, Shipwrecks, and Trade Routes so it isn't like they would be hurting for content options.

    I wish they were more open to making bold shifts like that - just "grandfather" in those who already did the stuff (so don't recalculate Faction Reputations or anything like that, just accept some people did it previously for the original Faction it was assigned to and let things play out more logically going forward for how the game has evolved).

    They have a lot of wiggle room, but I suspect they are too afraid of causing a stir among the community by making such bold choices to bring the game more in line logically and get the Factions better balanced out as options.

    I can already a Brig of keggers using it to pull of plays. But for the inconvenience it should be worth a pretty penny too.

  • Burial sites sound cool in general, maybe guarded by skeletons.
