Resurrection is op and cheese

  • 1v4ing Athena emissary galleon on beach for their loot. I kill the 1st guy, then 2nd guy, 3rd guy runs over while I'm 1 hp low ammo so by the time I eat and reload he has the 2nd guy rezd already, I kill one of them again while the 4th guy is sniping at me so I'm low and they rez again.

Maybe an unpopular take but this is garbage. Increase the time it takes to auto spawn you to boat in downed state but increase the time it takes to rez. I can't even reload and eat without the team being rezd. Between chain shots, firebombs, and harpoons when I lasted played made decent crews almost invincible now there are 5 second rezes? This is why I avoid pvp as a solo because it's completely catered to team sweats that literally can't lose even if they're bad, and even if I outplay and put in maximum effort I will get nothing out of it.

    Just make rez 10 seconds.

  • while I'm 1 hp low ammo so by the time I eat and reload he has the 2nd guy rezd already,

Where your sword? Firebombs? Blunder? Secondary gun?

So many ways to kill 4 players yet…resurrection is the problem.

  • It’s fine. Four of them and on an island, you wouldn’t of survived anyway. I think the issue was that there were 1000 outcomes and none of which where you win.

  • @burnbacon my sword? After i finished slashing the 2 up did you miss the part where I was 1 hp while getting sniped from guy #4? Lol. To be fair I forgot about blunderbombs in that situation but lets not lie and pretend that resurrection is broken for crews and anyone defending this asinine mechanic relies on it to win. It's just way too easy to get off. Resurrection itself is fine, but the way it is implemented is eye rolling.

  • @scurvywoof Ackshooaly I would have killed all of them and got something out of it.

  • @liljimothy2306 I watched actually turn into Achshoolay, that was interesting🤣
Was their ship not right there, though? They could’ve just respawned and gotten right back into it. Or am I not understanding this correctly?

  • @scurvywoof their ship was parked near the dock and they had tons of loot on the beach already, and the 4th guy was on the dock away from it after I killed 3 people. \

Listen I'm not trying to sound petty or complain about losing, but being able to resurrect crew members in the exact time it takes to eat a coconut and reload 1 shot is a bit ridiculous. It just drives more PVP away. I remember playing before chainshots harpoon and fire bombs and 1v3/1v4ing competent galleons as a sloop because I played better and there weren't as many insane tools to just win by default. Then after seeing this fast rez, it's just, those days are over.

  • @liljimothy2306 I think revive time is 6 seconds or something, because I’ve eaten a mango as someone was reviving and I fully ate it before they were revived. Must of been bad timing.
Its not supposed to take long, it’s not like Fortnite, where you have lots of health to tank and builds for cover. There is always the option to keep shooting the guy reviving to get him to stop or use blunder bombs to knock him away.

I 100% understand where you’re coming from, though.

  • @scurvywoof Even 10 seconds would fix it. It's just way too fast. If I can't reload and heal before they're up it's just like what's the point honestly.

"There is always the option to keep shooting the guy reviving to get him to stop or use blunder bombs to knock him away."

Well that's why I'm annoyed, because those 4 seconds you need to heal and get cover they get to rez for free super quick.

  • @liljimothy2306 Yeah, I’ll be honest. I don’t deal with reviving much solo because I don’t play much solo. It’s just not fun for me. I usually play on a sloop with a friend and between us, we can always stop people from reviving and work as a team to keep the maximum amount of pressure on our opponents at all times.
I’m not going to pretend like I’ve dealt with that, because I haven’t. Good luck for the future and Happy Sailing!

  • @scurvywoof It's much easier as a crew or crew vs crew, cause 1 extra person can do way more. I just like solo play randomly and it's just another reason to avoid pvp unless it's a 1v1 or 1v2. Appreciate the understanding.

  • PVP deaths should never have a revive option tbh, a solo sloop can't be revived while on a 4man crew it's very OP.

tl;dr remove PVP revives, keep PVE revives

  • I seen a video where one mentioned that res timers should decrease or/and ressing someone timer should increase depending on which ship you are crew of. Although i am not sure if its possible coding wise but i would like this idea. My experience is that most galleons and brigantines ships crews in most extend are the most toxic crews because its easier to spawn camp ships like sloops or they only chase and destroy sloops. Let me say i dont mind being sunk no matter what ship, but especially galleon crews before i can even say anything like gg i get cursed at or someone mentioning my mother.

By increasing the difficulty by ressing crew mates depending on ship size it makes it more balanced towards the smaller crews who then have a more fighting change. And as an extra this will keep the wanabe PvP'ers that are toxic most of the time looking for easy prey are held at bay. Because it actually requires being more aware to you other crew mates and that 1 crew dying from a galleon is actually punishable instead having this extra easy mode on them for ressing.

  • Resurrection should be for PvE deaths only IMO. It has only enabled the larger ships to play board happy Halo strats against smaller crews... especially solo players. It has also diminished the value of the skills of an Iron Sea Dog solo player.

If you're a would-be recipient of the pink flame of fate, you should not be able to be resurrected. Any other means of dying is fine for resurrection.

  • @sweetsandman exactly! Glad other people think the same way

  • I agree. Pvp needs to be a skill based activity. Countless times when I unfortunately can't avoid getting boarded, I'll be able to Kill the majority of the crew, but one guy would usually survive and the whole team will be rez'd and full healed by the time I'm back from the ferry, watching all the respawn points on my boat with double guns so I can't do anything. I love pvp, I love losing and I love winning, every experience I gain something. It's super fun. But it can be frustrating when the strategy for larger crews with sub-par skill is just to rush in head first and just make sure one of them stays alive to keep the perpetual rez's going. It's like fighting up a massive hill that shouldn't be there. I don't mind being out-skilled, it's happened plenty before and every time I learn and grow better. I do mind being out-rez'd. It's quite an imbalanced system in the game right now that should be an easy fix.

  • @liljimothy2306 rezing is a serious nerf to solo slooping/boarding.

  • @superawesomekk can’t agree more, being outskilled or having some bad luck is normal.

But getting rekt bcs of game mechanics is just annoying and demotivating :/

  • @superawesomekk
If 3 guys from 4 man crew are dead there is no time to revive all. Maybe 2. Even then I would go through ferry to get all full hp back in fight. And by time you are back from ferry in your ship they are also back no matter revived or through ferry. So with revive or not situation is still the same. I have personally found reviving being advantage cause people thin they can do it fast and start reviving dead during fight and become easy targets.

  • @cinnumann but you're just laying out a random situation as an example, when my real experience is why rezing is broken. Just cause 1 extra person is alive and they choose to not rez means nothing. Bad play on their part when they can rez in 5 seconds. Ppl revive when they know the enemy has to eat and reload so they can get it off for free which is why it should take longer to rez.
