Saying Goodbye to The Arena

Was level 48, 3/4 to 49 in the arena at the time of seeing this, no exclusive rewards for me I guess since there wasn't even a days notice on the cutoff for them.

Do you think that everyone who has earned Legendary Sea Dog before January 27th could earn something even more special. I would love a gold reskin of the triumphant and glorious sea dog sets.

I was level 27 with the Sea Dogs when this happened. Will I get the regular team ship rewards?

What is Sea Dogs rank 5? What particular commendation is is that? I’m curious what commendation is needed to claim the arena ship set.

You can repeat that all you like: But it was a time-limited reward that players were recently told they aren't getting after having no way to know they could have grinded for it. What happened to the stance of "nothing is exclusive" and "every cosmetic item will be given out again in some way" on Sea Of Thieves? It's just unfair to players to create cosmetics out of thin air that never existed, and only hand them out to a select few players. Maybe if these cosmetics had been offered in the Arena from the start players would have actually cared about playing the mode to get them.

I mean, if you set deadline ahead, players can decide if they can reach their goals or not. You give them a choice.
By telling players we are going to take it away just because you completed everything esle first is simply unfair.

I honestly enjoy arenas but wanted to complete all the fractions (except hunter of the shrouded ghost) first before diving in the pure pvp. However, I was looking forward for looong time Arenas.

I got your point but still hope you can relate to me & others here at 45+ levels.

I understand your position but disagree. It's not a cosmetic they are taking away from you, it's a gift to those who wanted to put the time into Arena before the 27th.

I'm super close to 50 and I actually feel scammed. So a level 49 is not a dedicated arena player for you? For 1 level, really? It's so mean to cut out all the players that are at 99% of the final goal. This is not fair, you simply should give us few days (a weekend maybe, would be enough) so everyone who is 45+ can reach 50. So we can "prove" that we are "dedicated" arena players too with our last effort.

Your decision makes me to not want to play the game anymore, not a fan of this way of thinking and won't support it, specially because you can do similar things in future and I don't want to feel scammed again. You should make your players happy, not angry, sad or disappointed.

Please give us a weekend to finish our Arena run. It means a lot for many of us, specially to who cares about getting all cosmetics in the game (cosmetics are the only thing that differentiate a veteran player from a new player in this game, the only thing you can own, collect and show to others).

Level 45+ arena players deserve their last chance, we are dedicated players too, please don't cut us off.

And then 40-44 players deserve it, and so on. It sucks, but the level cutoff has been set. Just like having 24 doubloons when you need 25. Sure, it's close, but that's the requirement.

The grind condition here is not your level. It's your level of motivation to play Arena, expressed in level. If they gave any time to "earn" this GIFT, then it wouldn't be solely about motivation. The Sea Dog sets weren't enough motivation for you to play Arena (cosmetic-wise)? Then you don't deserve a chance to grind it of FOMO.

Yes to this 100%...should be getting my 100 third place achievement tonight, but I want to know if there's any point in carrying on to level 50 (currently 39) if the achievements won't stick around!

I wouldn't mind if they lost their gamer score value, but they are a part of our pirate story so should still be viewable in achievements as some sort of legacy achievement for those that completed!

Getting to from SD39 to 50 earns you the everlasting right to buy the Glorious Sea Dog cannons, figurehead, Notorious Sea dog Cutlass, and Legendary Sea Dog Blunderbuss. Not to mention what you earn by unlocking achievements along the way there.

It's not a comm. You just need to have hit lvl 5 in the trading company

I reached level 50 before they capped the letters of recommendation. Once I found out they were limiting the letters of recommendation to one a month I rapidly bought all my remaining levels. I didn’t get my 240 wins. I figured Sea Dog rank 5 was the legendary sea dog commendation

Incentivinzing kills in adventure would increase spawncamping in adventure. For arena, they made commendations under the premise that each participant decided to be a part of the fight, and therefore spawncamping is not a bad thing in arena. Also, in adventure you have unlimited time, meaning spawncamping can go on for as long as you want (until the other crew realizes they can scuttle or leave game). So, for Arena, getting kills represents fighting more experienced players (in general) and coming out the victor, while adventure would be 10x easier to cheese and also be based solely on bulling inexperienced players.

I disagree with the ability to never complete the Pirate Legend weapons.

Personally I feel they should have never been locked behind 240 wins. For those who made it to 240 wins I would give them a unique costume or cosmetic set.

I would create a new commendation that would allow us to complete the pirate legend set

@sea-kelp8482 at level 50 now, just a day late for the good boy, but nevertheless I will carry on grinding as I have for the next few weeks and hopefully I will get triumphant ship set, clothing and weapons 😉🏴‍☠️

I'd happily trade LSD weapons for Golden Legendary weapons and/or the rest of the Victorious set.

But the LSD weapons will be replaced by new ones, to keep the set filled.

@coffeelight5545 I suspect they’ll just be two sets of weapons for the PL set. I personally am excited to see what the new weapons look like. They should also theoretically have the same color scheme so hopefully they’re not recolors.

@grumpyw01f They have talked about creating ways to bring back all the old exclusive cosmetics in a dev update maybe a year or so ago. They straight up said that they didn't want things to be exclusive and wanted to find ways to release items to players again.

Proof? (with context). Maybe you heard it the wrong way, the devs have no plans to re-release old exclusives. To bring back the old sets, they've given recolors such as the Silent Barnacle, Fearless Bone Crusher, and Scorched Forsaken Ashes. But never the originals.

Would have preferred an earlier notice of the Arena's closure; I will feel obliged to play exclusively Arena with the current time frame, and will not be enjoying it. Textbook fomo, please consider extending the deadline to the end of Season Six at the very least

If you have unlocked these weapons for purchase, they will remain purchasable. If you have not unlocked these items, they will no longer be visible to you in the shops.
To allow players to still complete the Pirate Legend set, a new Pirate Legend weapon set is being worked on and will be made available to obtain soon.

The legendary sea dog clothing and the triumphant sea dog clothing should be lost but not the pirate legend weapons

Although I understand you're not going to change your mind, I would like to say this is a disappointing decision. Anytime someone asks how to get better at pvp, the response is to grind the arena. It may not be used often, but it is often used well.

@musicmee I only have one request. Could you inquire into the possibility of completing the Glorious/Triumphant Sea Dog Sets? They're missing fishing rods.
