How to kill megaladon?

  • How do you kill a megaladon that sinks galleons with two bites, making what appears to be 4-7 holes per bite? We didn't even have time to repair all the holes inbetween the bites...? Any pointers for killing it (and surviving to tell the tale)?

EDIT: Also, how many hits does it take to kill one? We've been shooting a lot of cannonballs but it doesn't even flinch. xD

  • @linentable78290 Ahoy matey!

Were you a full crew of 4?

    A few tips that I alsways follow/do...

    • Spin with/in the direction of the megalandon
    • Put sails up
    • Don't anchor
    • Use cannons and tridents to take them out

Some of the megs take more hits/are more aggressive than others... so you may need to vary your tactics but this should set you in the right direction! Also if the battle becomes too much head to the nearest island or rock formation and meg will do a runner!

  • @musicmee Thanks for the reply, we'll try that! I got another question though: Does shooting the meg make it more angry? Because it appears to us as though megs bite more if you shoot at them a lot, or was it just coincidental?

  • Another tip, you can actually prevent Meg from biting the Ship. If you shoot it with Cannons as it is charging (I think it takes 2 or 3 shots, I forget), it will actually cause Meg to give up the bite attempt and typically just swim under the Ship. I've killed many Megs that have never bit the Ship once due to this.

Awesome! That will definitely come in handy. Now we just gotta actually hit it lol.

  • @linentable78290 that comes with practice, though it is admittedly easier to line those shots up when Meg is charging if you have it on your broadside. The real trick is you have very little time to get the shots off before the bite will happen, so you have to be pretty on top of it as soon as Meg starts the charge. It might also scale the shots needed based on crew size (I know on a Sloop it is two shots, and you have just enough time to fire a loaded shot at the start, reload, and fire the second before the bite to stop it).

  • @hotklou9848 in my experience, shooting them doesn’t make them more aggressive. Some Just spawn more aggressive than others.

Good to know. You've played more than I so I'll trust your judgement. xD

  • 🤔 does eye colour not indicate the level of aggression? I swear that green-eyed ones are more passive, then orange, then red.....I may have gone full Falcore and just made that up....

  • @triheadedmonkey ya know, I never paid attention to that. I just know some are passive, some are curious, and some are outright aggressive. Maybe the eyes do indicate this. I'm gonna start watching that.

  • @redeyesith just one of the things I have noticed and/or made up! 😄 my theory is why have different eye colours if for no reason? 🤔
