I'm about to whine, you've been warned🤣
I really like pvp in this game, very balanced and usually fun. I play for many reasons, one of them is to sail and fight with ships. I don't care for how easy it is to board another vessel. If I could, I would simply hoist up the ladder, problem solved! Secondly, and this has plagued fps forever, jumping. Jumping is an easy fix, when you have a weapon equipped you can't jump! In many other online fps I would slaughter the jumpers, but in SoT the fps is not well developed, so jumping remains effective. I'm still a noob, so I'll get better at defending, but I don't really want to employ these, IMO, cheesy tactics in order to compete😉

Hoisting your ladders would make it difficult to get back to your own ship after you got knocked off by a Meggie or a cannonball
And again … this is the wrong sub-forum.
@keelhauler72 I'm ok with how ladders work right now...no need for change that...about jumping, not able to jump while a weapon equipped is a really bad idea! Better would be, that jumping cancels the reload animation...so no reloading while jumping
@keelhauler72 please check you are adding your thread to the correct category before posting. I’ll move it over for you this time :)
I don't see a problem with jumping. Movement is a huge part of the skill gap in PVP, Same with guarding ladders. Therefore, practice and improve your skill in the current game instead of wishing it would change, you'll have a better experience overall.
I have heard people ask to raise ladders before but instead, I would argue to just learn to watch for mermaids and listen for borders. With a little practice and subsequent failure, you will be a PVP chad in no time.
