I think it would be cool if you could collect eggs from chickens that are onboard your ship.
To get a hen to lay an egg you could play a shanty. Its better than them doing it whenever they want causing lots of unwanted eggs. They will lay 1 egg per day.
Eggs can be thrown at pirates for comedic effect or cooked on a stove.
To cook, simply aim the throwable egg on the stove and it will cook as it cracks on there.
HOWEVER....
You could make a proper breakfast by placing on some bacon and THEN throw the egg on top. The results would be a substantial meal that gives you a lot of passive regen kinda like a megalodon steak.
