I am trying to gift a Sea of Thieves friend enough Ancient Coins to purchase a Sail Bundle. He plays via Xbox so I purchased an Xbox Digital Gift Card of $25 for him. However, he lives in the United Kingdom and I live in the United States. Microsoft says he cannot redeem the gift card because he is in a different region. He tried changing his Xbox account details to signify my region and used a bogus address (this was Mircrosoft's suggestion, believe it or not) Ultimately, Microsoft had absolutely no solution as to how I could send this player a gift card in a different region! I am working to get the cost refunded.
What is the successful procedure in gifting a Sea of Thieves player Ancient Coins/Gift Cards when they live in a different region than yourself??
