Big Fish

  • Everyone hates fishing. If you don't, you're certifiably insane. But what if people didn't hate fishing? What if we made a different kind of fishing that made fishing fun?

Obviously, regular fishing would remain as is. However, what if you could use a regular fish, put it on your fishing pole, cast it out, and use it as bait to get a big fish? Once the big fish is hooked, you place your rod into a holder next to your harpoon. You can then harpoon the big fish, dragging it in and eventually, yanking it out of the water. You then take the fish (it takes both arms to carry and you can't sprint with it) and lay it on top deck. Once it's been on top deck for a while, it will cook.

In order to find Big Fish in the first place, you will have to level up your Hunters Call to at least level 15, at which point you can purchase a voyage titled something like "The Hunt for the Wild Swordfish," which gives you a map of the fish's swimming route. You then have to sail over to where it is in order to catch it.

Some of these fish could be swordfish, eels, or even different types of shark. The most important thing, however, is that when you sink someone with Big Fish aboard their ship, since they aren't in the barrels, they float up, allowing you to successfully steal Hunter's Call reputation! Finally!

  • I... I like fishing... but yeah in general I'd really enjoy that. I've thought a lot about a updated fishing system
