(TLDR: New Voyages for Hunters Call where you go and hunt down sharks)
I'm a pretty new player, below 100 hours so take everything I say with a grain of salt. So far some of my favorite time spent in game is fishing, surprisingly. I enjoyed catching a cool fish and then cooking it just right then eating it. Once I learned I could sell my fish and get commendations for it, I was very excited.
Sadly Hunters has very little to do. Yes you can get the full set, and yes there are many commendations for fishing out unholy amounts of fish, but I was really discouraged with the lack of any voyages. Reapers Emissary does a good job with no voyages, as you could really just do another voyage from a different Company and sell the loot to the Servant, but Hunters has nothing like that.
So I propose an idea for voyages for Hunter's Call. So you would get these voyages from one of the many Hunter's Call family members at their Seaposts around the Sea of Thieves. In the paper they give you, is states that you have been assigned to hunt down a certain amount of special shark. The amount is based off of the level of voyage you get. The special shark is a shark that looks very similar to others, but has a slight variation (Like a golden fin). You are also told that this certain shark you are hunting can only be lured with a certain condition, and with a certain bait. Conditions could be nighttime, storming, volcano erupting nearby, or other things. The bait would be a certain type of fish with a specific cooking, and only one is required to lure them, so long as the fish is collected before the sharks eat it. When you receive the voyage, you will also receive a bait platter, which is not an item, but a placeable like a chest. When placed it will float in the water, and any meat can be put on it. Alright below is a 2 different voyage notes I came up with, the first is a low level voyage, and the second is a high level voyage.
"You have been assigned from Arrick to hunt 2 Golden Finned Sharks. They are lured with uncooked Ruby Splashtail, and are found surrounding Marauders Arch."
(Marauders Arch is very close by to Arrick)
"You have been assigned from Zharick to hunt 8 Red Teethed Sharked. They are lured with cooked Wild Stormfish, and are found around an erupting volcano."
(Reading his back, this would take a lot of prep, and is possibly too difficult)
When you lure one of these sharks it will start to attack you, dealing more damage, and possibly debuffs. These sharks are bigger than usually, not megalodon size, but noticeably. When killed they will drop their respective carcase (gold finned shark carcase). This is also a placeable, and cannot be put into a players inventory. This is so other pirates can steal these meats. Take the carcase to any Seapost and sell it for rep and gold!
I had this other idea that if a megalodon were to bite your ship, close to the carcase, it would eat it but idk about that it seems kinda useless.
