  • Haha the human highlight reel returns! I thought the diagram was pro lol. As always, you never fail to impress with the in-game examples.

    Lol. Thanks RD.

  • The sloop that followed you into the Red Sea were not very smart - I would never follow you there. I would just wait for you to corner yourself, and intercept you on your way out...

  • @sneakler

This is excellent, love how your explanations are clear and concise and supported with gameplay examples.. fabulous!!

Typically we do the exact same thing if someone drives off into the red sea. You were missing the context of the story though which can be seen in the episode released before this tips video (Hell and Back) which I should have mentioned in this video so people understood that it wasn't a random ship following us. This crew was one of those crazy crews that would have found satisfaction in nobody getting the "skeleton key" and when you know you are dealing with someone like that it becomes a useful tool.

That crew also knew the fort that the key belonged to was Crow's Nest which was on the other side of the map so they could lose their ship and likely still go back and camp the fort. We just wanted them off our backs so we could continue to do missions and make them wait to open the fort.

  • @Sneakler A friend of mine I shared the video with wanted me to find out what setup you use to record yourself on xbox. Chat link cable or external microphone?

@Sneakler A friend of mine I shared the video with wanted me to find out what setup you use to record yourself on xbox. Chat link cable or external microphone?

Tried the chat link cable and ended up switching to a lapel collar clip external usb mic. They were surprisingly cheap. Less then 20 dollars.

  • E3 Hypeeee! Got a new video uploading right now and should be up within the hour!

I'm really hoping Rare has a nice presentation today at 4pm EST!

Will share when the video finishes uploading.

If, and only if you have time. Do you know the brand or model of the external mic you went with? If you get a chance to look or check it would be greatly appreciated.

I think I just typed clip microphone on Amazon I will take a look at my order history and let you know : )

Not a problem. Just to be clear though, I use this mic to record my party chat. Not the voice-overs for my videos. I have a more professional style Audiotechnica microphone that I use for that. It is a few years old though, which is why I still sound pretty awful but it does the job. Was a nice mic when I bought it.

  • Excellent tips bro. Making it look easy.

I have tried the official chat link cable and an aftermarket one and they both produced distorted audio with interference. I looked into it and most 9mm jacks are not shielded and this is why. I see that microphone that you linked has some sort of shielding device that it comes with.

Right on, the official ElGato chat link cable is slightly less a piece of garbage then a true 3rd party y-splitter link cable. Best bet for recording your own voice on xbox for content creation is to buy a usb clip-mic and just clip it to the boom on your headset you are already using. Looks goofy but it does the job!

Yep moving forward y-splitters are just not an option. They are junk as far as consistency and sound quality goes.

  • @sneakler Yet another great video from you. Thanks mate.
Are there any of your videos that sees the editor's floor? I'm guessing that you have the Midas touch.

I appreciate the level of thought you put into each attack, reading how the following ship will respond and at precisely which moment.
Just curious of how many hours a day (or week if not daily) do you guys play?

I am very picky about what I include in a video. I try not to include any clips of destroying ships that are obviously low in skill level so people cannot comment and say that what I did only worked because the players were bad. Some clips of low-skilled competition are included for learning purposes but I try to get rid of most of those clips.

So I throw away alot of footage because I feel the competition was not skilled.

We play once a night for 3 hours or so. Sometimes we take a night off but mostly every night for 3-4 hours in the evening.

This had me rolling. It is sad but it is true. If I see a video of someone destroying a plain-jane all brown ship I can't give them the credit they deserve because the competition is assumed to be poor. If the boat isn't decked out or the players don't have nice cosmetic clothing unlocked it takes away from the clip lol.

  • Nice job, enjoyed the video quite a bit. Nothing beats an anchor drop in the kill zone of a skull fort after a barrel :)

Thanks! As far as information and strategy goes this video is likely my best. Without barrels I don't know what I would do with myself lol.

  • @sneakler I got to see the new "boat rock" effect from a barrel on both the giving and receiving side. WOW what a great effect. This could be a game changer for fort strategy in my book. Actually pushed the gallion back into the range of the towers with the barrel, which I didn't expect. Tonight is the big night, should hit Pirate Legend.

You are the first person I have saw mention this and it really does change up the mechanics of the way fort battles play out. I am pretty sure that even if a ship is anchored the explosion will move the boat as well. Hopefully you get legend tonight! I am so glad they added explosion force to the game. I have also noticed that the shockwave is larger then the explosion. A shockwave can move a boat but also cause zero damage if slightly too far away for damage.

Plain and simple. You lose credibility if you destroy some obvious low level players with an advanced maneuver. Let me rephrase that...You can obviously use a advanced move on a noob crew, but I personally don't think that makes for a good clip. Not my thing lol. People respect when you back up your strategies with in-game examples against average or above average competition and not against obvious new players.

  • @sneakler, oh my gosh. Stop bumping this. I keep getting excited thinking it's a new video!
