"Allow friends to join team" settings menu issue

  • "Allow friends to join team" settings menu resets it's state to "YES" by default, after full close the game. It's very annoying if someone from my friendliest or teammates friendliest joins the game and not leaving, even being send to brig. Kicking person who is in brig also a big problem, why he can't be automatically kicked off after 5-15 minutes in brig, or why he receive gold and levels while sitting in brig.

Actual result: "Allow friends to join team" settings menu YES by default if the game was fully closed.
Expected result: "Allow friends to join team" settings menu should be NO by default or save it's value if the game was fully closed.

  • Or if we could have an invite only option that would be great.

  • Perhaps be more selective with adding persons to your list of friends.

If someone doesn't want to leave, even after being brigged, (s)he'll no longer a friend on my list.

We already have this function - you can close it, even to friends, unless they get an invitation.

  • @galactic-geek I've tried that and it won't let me invite them to my game if i've have turned that option on. Even re-wording it in the options menu would help

  • @lem0n-curry On xbox people can add you without you adding them. I've had the same issue

  • @lem0n-curry I'm very selective with my friends. And don't join my friend's game without their permission or invitation. But there can be friends in teammates friend lists that can join and screw the game or just idle.

  • @galactic-geek Agree, but this settings resets by default to YES, if you close the game on xbox, its value saved only per game session not permanent.

  • Also agree... I think the option you set it to should be default after relaunching the game.

That's good manners of you! I guess I skipped the mention of the teammates friend's list ... (s)he needs to be more selective... put the blam there and not on Rare IMO.
Can't have your setting override your friend's setting... hmm if one person in a crew has the most restricted setting, should all fellow crew mates follow?

Oh, didn't know about that. That's like a Kraken, it s.... big time.

Now that I look, I got two or three of those, but they don't bother me, so I've never run into this issue. Blocking them probably causes issues if they're friends of friends and you join a game of a mutual friend and they're there as well ?

That's a minor issue at best, and likely doesn't affect most players, as they likely don't use it, unlike someone such as yourself.

  • @galactic-geek I know that it's minor issue, but without discussion with community on this forum Rare developers won't fix it or even add it to bug-report list. It affect all players, but most of players doesn't have impudent friends that are fans of SOT.
