Players are ugly and I have simple solution! THOUGHTS?

    A lot of my friends that play Sea of Thieves do not like how their characters look. I understand that Rare doesn't want to make a customization feature to keep pirates looking different but there are little features they can add to create attatchment to their characters without changing their style.

    1. Eye color change.
      My characters eyes are bright green. Offering eye color changes alone will completely change the appearance of my character and make him into someone I'd enjoy playing as again.

    2. Scars
      Adding scars to face arms legs etc could be pretty cool and help personalize each pirate significantly.

    3. One time free character change where you can change your pirate without resetting the pirate. Also let the user choose certain features such as skin color, body shape, and sex to randomize within to get close to what you're looking for in a pirate.

    Give me your thoughts!

    @cuz-panos I always understood Rare's approach that our characters should be our characters, that we love and cherish, warts and all, and therefore cannot be changed physically as we progress through this adventure. It makes them a little more personal to us.

    Having said that. many have asked for the ability to reroll their look as they wern't happy with the final result. And it seems a little bizarre to me that they spent so much time and effort to create the pirate generator and then its players only ever use it once? I wouldn't be surprised if in the future we get access to it again to give our characters a new look. I don't think it would be such a bad thing!

    Just a few filters you could select before giving the IPG a spin would go a long way... gender, race, weight etc would give you more focused results.

    I'm down for this. I mean, I do love my current pirate quite a bit - but between the odd looking clothes on him [he's a bigger gent], and being rushed quite a bit to create him in the beginning [because it was at that point a race to Pirate Legend], I feel as if I didn't get as good a pirate as I could have.

    Please Rare - give us some kind of option to re-roll their appearance!

    Naaaah this is obviously just too "force" people into making more different looking characters.
    Kinda of an EA styled thing. Something no one likes but is there anyways.

    They wanted to stop people from making lots of "Jack Sparrows" or "Barbossas" or "Blackbeards" thats all.

    But what did Rare achieve ultimately?
    Now the world is overrun with untrimmed hobos (lol) and uninteresting looking people everywhere and you forget them the moment you look in another direction, hahahahahaha!

    @loopct That is what I feel should of been done as well. That way I wouldn’t have had to waste so much time rolling through female characters when I had zero interest in playing as one

    I think Rare should get a real character creation tool in place for all new players. The solution they have now is just not good enough for a game that have so much focus on cosmetics and how you stand out in the game.

    And they should add a barber/hairdresser in the game for people to adjust their character if they are not pleased with how they look. Get all tattoos,hairs and beards etc in that shop.

    It wouldn't be strange or design breaking at all. It would be great.
