So during beta some fellow members had a great idea about the crew.
For example you meet someone that isn't in your crew and decide to recruit him/her without starting a new game.
So this could be solved by that lone Pirate going to a tavern and signing a parchment
and once signed you can join the crew you chose.
And to prevent crew hopping, this is only allowed once every 3 hours real time.
Thoughts?
