Just curious as to why the chests are stackable? You can literally stack 20+ chests in the same place, I feel like this takes away from any realism the game tries to make. If the chests were solid objects then you would eventually run out of room on your ship. The chests would be leaning over others, stacked like a pyramids untill there was no more space. Also weight, the more chests you have equals more weight, which would cause the ship to be slower. ( Oh no we're under attack, throw some over board, we need the speed!!) And could even force the ship to ride lower in the water. Exp. Your sailing along and come across two galleons one is riding pretty low in the water the other is riding high. Umm which one has the treasure?
Stackable Chests
@devilettuce Ahoy there!
While I would like to see the chests be stackable... I believe it's a technical reason why they are hollow objects and not ones with large collision boxes on and that is to stop you getting stuck in trees, bushes and doorways.
So maybe something to fix at a later date but for the ease and manoeuvrability of the character, I think they chose the right path for now.
@musicmee I think it is this. It's not about making the chests easy to transport so much as not introducing objects that players can used to barricade others out of (or in to) an area.
@musicmee Seeing as Rare is already having enough trouble with collisions and the spring launched sloops, yeah chests should stay hollow lol
