What happens when you log off?

  • As in topic.
Assuming it's a persistent world, what happens to your character when you exit the game and also your crew since they'd be missing a person.

I've tried finding this topic in the forums with no luck.

  • @void-presence Your character will log off, and a spot will be open on the crew if you are on 4 man boat or 2 man boat and will fill up by randoms, or at least this is how it have been.

    //Smerof

  • but what if your whole crew logs of and there were treasures left on the ship, a losing crew could log off in order to deny their enemies their loot

  • @cpt-erebos The ship will vanish and the treasure will float on the seas for a while, just as if they had been sunk.

  • It’s not what you think. When you log on you join a session on a random server at a port. When you log off you leave the server. When you join a 4 man boat it will just set you up with some random people. It’s not like a game like ark where when you log back in every thing is where you left it. Then only thing that saves is the stuff you have all ready turned in.

  • @sergent-c****r That answers a lot of questions, thanks.
When you log in do you have the option of joining friends?

  • @void-presence You setup a crew before you join the server, Allowing you and your friends to come together and prepare etc.

Before commiting to a ship, you can invite your friend(s) to fill-in the crew.
Once all are in, "Set Sail" will assign that crew to a new ship.

If the crew is only 2 or 3 friends on a 4 galleon, the missing slots will be filled by other random players wanting to join on that ship type.

While in-game, whenever a crew member logs off, a new random player gets that slot.

Edit: oh, @Its-Stoobs already answered. I was too slow this time :P

  • @koshdukai You made it more descriptive and detailed, I just answered in a simplistic manner lol

  • @void-presence in my opinion it’s a good way of doing things. In my experience playing the alpha it is very easy to make friends in this game. You either work well together or you don’t. When everything goes well it seems to pull every one together and friendships are made. Another cool part is if your crew gets set up with a random guy that’s trolling you or just not helping you can vote to put him in the brig. He can not get out unless he logs off, the ship sinks, or he gets voted back out!!!! Haha

hmmm... now I'm starting to think that I was too descriptive for uh... "public" consumption :/

  • @cpt-erebos you would definitely loose your treasures as you would need to cash them in before logging off.
