I tried to hop on and do a little athena rep grind, I've played since beta and loved the game back then but it's just not enjoy anymore for me. The accuracy of the AI is wild. I was 1 shot several times was loading back on the shop to repair literally everything that was destroyed in that awful black screen load time. Mast was down, anchor was hit, helm was hit, ship was on fire and every hole leaking, as I stressed the hell out trying to salvage my athena loot, a skelly ship spawned in and hammered me, I managed to control the leaks enough to fire back but as soon as I was dropping sails trying to escape a meg spawned on me and killed me once again, I came back again barely saved the ship and got to the closest island to try and despawn the meg which then out of nowhere another skelly ship spawned and 1 shot me. I came back AGAIN and started bucketing but what do you know, 3 sweats were on board somehow that fast, I'm guessing the dove to the fort near me and seen me. They spawn camped me of course then messaged me being toxic. I'm done for good. Idk what would ever being me back. Maybe safe seas without the stupid gold % loss which is absolutely the most disgusting thing a dev can do. How many seasons has it been where people have asked for this??? Too damn many! It was fun at times but it's too sweaty and toxic. Gj yall

After reading everyhing before and after this line, I'm not so inclined to believe that they were the toxic ones (and that you were spawn camped).
Also, everything looks like a nice overdramatic pumped up fantasy story, just to complain about SS restrictions and how these are "unjust". 😅 But it doesn't matter now anyways, does it

The only "loss" in terms of gold is removed emissaries. You still get 100% worth of loot sold, so idk what are you complaining about lol.

I got some news you might wanna hear
The game design and intent for Sea of Thieves is a shared world adventure, and it always will be. Those who wish to play in the confines of Safer Seas will always have the option but we will not bring the rewards and activities in line with those of High Seas when many of the restrictions are in place due to the risk vs reward factor that is inherent in Sea of Thieves - removing any risk means rewards must be balanced accordingly.
Safer Seas will act not only as a safe space for our Tall Tale players but also for families with children who just want to pirate, for people who want to play the game but learn the ropes and it will organically feed into Adventure mode, keeping the player pool there healthy and upskilled as they've learned the mechanics.
This is not only useful for new players but also families and players with accessibility needs - the whole game suddenly becomes available in a way it hasn't before, letting them naturally progress to High Seas and become a Pirate Legend. SoT has grown a huge amount in 5 years and it can be fairly overwhelming.
The borders put in Safer Seas mean that to experience the full depth and breadth of the game you will have to hit the high seas BUT if you're playing with your family you don't have to, you can just enjoy the game and have fun as a family.
