All right, ever since Rare released distinctions for the trading companies, it kind of did not really hit the mark in my mind.
don’t get me wrong hitting level 100 and unlocking the new outfits and stuff before it was kind of cool & such.

Put the grog down. With how easy it currently is to get to grade 5 for the factions, AND you get to dive directly to your voyage (which is unlikely to be contested), and with the amount of gold you can easily earn, this is the EASIEST time to grind out distinction levels/rep. It's because of the current state of the game making it much easier.

Now I’m branching off to a different subject and that’s Hourglass.
The amount of people that go for golden ghost & golden bones shows me in my view They are way too burnt out on PVP, I’ve met a few that said they kind of regretted grinding, PVP constantly, and I understood that because what’s the point of having a golden version of the ghost curse or golden skeleton curse when there’s nothing tying it to the game.

...same with every other commendation and cosmetic reward in the game. Also, I'm wondering where you get these numbers from, as players on the SoT official discord are always forming crews for hourglass, when you say you've only spoken to a "few"??

Now there are the gold skeletons from forts and that we have to kill and that’s understandable.
But golden ghost does not really seem right to be honest and I think the grind for those who have done it kind of burnt out their love the game, but I might be wrong.

Who's making players grind for the gold curse? A friend of mine literally bilged his way to gold curse (not joking LOL) and still plays since he loves the game. No one forced him to do it.

Honestly diving has made the game feel less interesting and earning gold kind of feels too easy, but I understand there’s players who are frustrated about not earning enough gold & reputation and so far it looks like they’ve been catered to for that.
That’s why it’s better to plan out your voyage is ahead of time & have having a crew that can think with you as one but there’s hardly any of them out there except for a few, of course.
But for us veterans who have a different view of this game are some that have left & those guys who loved the the adventures & the thrills of whatever a new session brings each day.

They don't need to reset it that is why you can buy a 2nd pirate but they need to expand on the levels. Distinction 5 is so long ago we should at least be up to Distinction 15 by now if not Distinction 20. They don't even need to add anything to unlock at those. I just want to be able to go do something again in each trading company. After hitting Distinction 5 in all you get to the point you don't want to even pick up treasure cause you have no rep going up and gold means nothing at this point either when you have tons. So no point in turning in anything unless you have a commedation you need done.

Even though creating a a new character is a challenge for a lot of players that earned a lot on their previous one that has played since the beginning & takes away the value in a sense.

I don't understand why they put the cap at 500. They should have just made it like hourglass factions and made the cap 9,999

@shadowfox327533 exactly that's why i said we should be able to get to Distinction 15 at least by now. I think 10 is way too low at this point. Guild levels should be higher than 10 as well. My guild has been 10 for awhile and people got bored after doing the comms for it and hate not seeing that raise up anymore too. Each year they should add 5 more levels to each. I refuse to start a new character and redo all the commendations just to gain levels.

It'd be neat if Guilds had a "chapters" function and you could combine Guilds somehow without actually losing your own Guild name.
