Please. Never. Spawn hourglass pvp in Ancient Megalodons zones.
HOURGLASS
@burnbacon in open world you can choose not to sail towards an ancient meg during a fight, in hourglass you are spawned on top of it. It's clearly unintended behavior when you just have to stand there and watch eel-ectrics spawn on your boat and attack while you can't move
I can see both sides of this. On the one hand PVE spawns attacking you while in hourglass is kind of the other side of the coin to pirates attacking you while you're on a voyage. You choose PVE and accept the risk of PVP or you choose PVP and accept the risk of PVE.
That being said, having an ancient meg targeting one player while in an hourglass fight basically decides the outcome of the fight before it's even started.
I think rather than ensuring hourglass fights are kept away from ancient megs entirely, change the meg's behaviour so that it doesn't just lock onto one ship and ignore the other. Even the attacks out so that it goes for both ships equally, or make it so hitting it with enough cannonballs causes it to change targets.
That way you can keep the chaos and drama of trying to have an hourglass fight while there's an ancient meg in the local waters, but remove the one sidedness and the feeling that the battle's over before it's started.
Haha. Pirates should take advantage of a fight. Idk why players get upset when the losing side isn’t their own. But the other team. Take the win
@burnbacon Are you saying when Rare thought of this happening when adding ancient megalodons to the game and that it is intended that there is a random chance of someone spawning with Ocean crawlers damaging them before their controls unlocked?
Or do you agree that it is probably an oversight that should be amended?
@rambobrad Our crew once got team-wiped on brig by ocean crawlers before the match even started.. :p
