The commendations for delivering pristine and grisly megalodon teeth and scales is so unbalanced it’s wild. The only way to get these are from killing an emergent meg, kraken or boar wallows. They need to Atleast improve the drop rate from emergent megs as it has to be so slim, I have never got more than 1 from a meg, but have gotten 2 pristine boar tusks from a meg? It doesn’t seem right.

This is also an achievement that gets worse as you progress, because you eventually get to a point where you're just needing one type, and the fact that it's RNG on top of RNG doesn't help. It took me over 11hrs (a day and a half) to find the last tooth I needed.
If you don't want to lose your sanity, try to do other things as you serendipitously look for them, and/or have a few like-minded players/friends on other servers looking as well. There's been quite a few posts made about this very topic, and they've never addressed this, so I'm assuming it's intended to be this way and not about to change. Good luck.
A while back I posted an analysis of just how difficult it was to achieve this commendation (see thread entitled "Pristine Megalodon Scales and Teeth: An Analysis"). My conclusion was that it takes, on average, 19 hours of dedicated play to locate ONE Pristine Tooth or Scale. (By "dedicated play," I mean nearly 100% of game time is spent searching for these items, foregoing any other activity like PvP or world events.) Extrapolating, that's more than 700 hours of gameplay to complete a commendation that gives you no rewards.
Since that post, I have continued to look for these Teeth and Scales and, I am truly sorry to report, my original assessment has held up. When you consider how Rare nerfed so many other commendations so quickly -- like the Horn of Fair Winds, for example -- it is flabbergasting that they won't adjust this further. Even for a game known for its sadistic commendation system, this one is particularly aggravating.

I think I read on reddit that the loot from emergent boar wallows despawns after an hour or two (just like other loot on islands).
Looking for these on a not-new server or after two hours on a new server will thus not result in finding these in boar wallows.
Yea thats why the wallow strat only works on Safer Seas.
Forgot to @obscureberry192 as they might be wasting their time on 2+ hours old servers if they still are after these.

You guys really need to start ignoring these commendations that are this bad. Grinding them out is only going to ensure that they keep adding similar grinds in the future and not adjusting anything because their metrics say people are doing them.
This. 100%. Rare only look at the analytics, and the data says that players are loving doing them.
