Yet another hourglass post. Sorry :)

  • I know I know. More hg posts.

People are starting to lose interest in hourglass. You know it’s true.

Wait times are getting longer, you start to see the same crews more than once. Most people are only playing it for the cosmetics and not for fun, like it was designed.

It’s starting to turn into Arena, and before it needs something, anything, to attract more players so it doesn’t end up turning into Arena 2.0.

I know it’s not a separate game mode like Arena was that they have to upkeep, but what’s the point of keeping an abandoned feature.

It’s not abandoned yet, but if things stay the same, it might as well be in the future.

Fight nights and gold and glory might help bring in some players temporarily, but as soon as it’s over, it’s the same old thing.

I like hourglass (sometimes) but it’s getting so repetitive. No more interesting fights. Just get the win (or loss) get the supplies and dive again.

I don’t know what needs to be done or how, I’ll leave that up to them, but something needs to happen, and soon.

Was there any real interest other than getting those curses which now are required to own if you want to unlock commendation.

Same people. Still PvP, take what you are signing up for

Getting the cosmetics is part of the fun. But most people are taking the fun out of it because “unfairness” sillyness. Or other stuff.

    Not even close.

Do you want pvp without looking for it? Wanna skip sailing around and attack non fighting back ships?? Hourglass is for you

  • @xDragonMan15558 Please avoid engaging in personal arguments and derailing the topic of the thread. It is fine to debate the content of the post, and the viewpoints therein, but disrespecting any of your fellow pirates personally is against the pirate code, and our forum rules.

  • Hourglass does not value players time, so players do not feel value in the time they put into hourglass. There is only one reward for either side before allegiance 100, and it's the throwing knives at ally 50, which only matters to people who use throwing knives. If you buy supplies, then play a match for 45 minutes, and it's very close for the whole match, both sides hitting tons of shots, and repairing and bucketing a ton too, but you lose at the end of it, you get the same amount of rep as if you just hopped out of the tavern as a fresh spawn, queued, anchored as soon as you come up, then scuttled in 30 seconds.

And yet. Those same players will waste time chasing ships around the sea, just to sink them or sake of being a pirate. :/ Looking for pvp, from players not wanting or caring to fight back.

    It a weird thing.

  • To be fair, ships you spot at sea might have treasure on board, a lot mroe of a chance of it than hourglass other than the occasiononal emm flag you can get from ships at sea too. You also are locked together in a spot while dealing with the risk of 3rd parties you can't escape and being sailed out of bounds is a way of losing whereas out at sea thats just gonna delay your return to hunting another ship. Same time investment but different things to offer and at sea seems more appealing as if it's not looking worth your time or a juicier target comes along you can shift gears. Whereas HG you might be stuck with a runner you cant just abandon without giving them a free win
