I’d like to suggest a new quest inspired by the real-life pirate Olivier le Vasseur, also known as "La Buse". Famous for his cunning and ruthlessness, La Buse was a notorious figure during the golden age of piracy in the Indian Ocean, with pirates often using Réunion Island as a base for their operations. Before his capture and execution in 1730, La Buse is said to have hidden a vast treasure on Réunion Island, rumored to be worth an incredible fortune.
Legend has it that at the time of his hanging, he threw a cryptic necklace into the crowd, containing an encrypted message that supposedly leads to the treasure. To this day, despite countless attempts to decipher the clues, the treasure remains undiscovered.
This legendary story has already inspired famous works of fiction, including the manga « One Piece ». It could now serve as the basis for an epic Sea of Thieves quest, where players would venture to an island inspired by the mysterious and rugged landscapes of Réunion Island (volcanic peaks, steep cliffs, and lush, varied vegetation). There, players would encounter enigmatic NPCs who offer cryptic clues, and through their guidance, they would gather fragments of La Buse’s notes, slowly unraveling the location of a grand treasure cache.
This treasure would be hidden deep within the island, guarded by intricate puzzles, perilous traps, and whispered legends.
Once discovered, the treasure’s worth would be so great that those who claim it will be marked for battle, forced to defend their loot across the perilous seas of Sea of Thieves. The quest would combine the thrill of exploration, the tension of competing with rival crews, and the excitement of defending a legendary pirate hoard, ensuring that no pirate's journey remains without danger or intrigue.
