How do I get a refund

  • The game is awesome when you can actually play the damn thing

    [Mod edit]
The kiwibeard (maintenance issue) is a joke there is a way to temporarily fix it but it happens to offered the amount of loot I’ve lost getting kicked mid game tor this error is a joke

The games been out Grie 6 year apparently
Coming from a PlayStation user you have massively let the community down

Some poor people can’t even get on this is a joke
When you message the admins / copy and paste experts
They don’t care just mark it as solved

  • @pintsizedog Ahoy matey!

You need to return to your point of sale to get a refund.

So if you bought it from the PlayStation store - head there!

I do however, suspect we'll be hearing more on this issue very soon as it affects a large proportion of PlayStation users.

I have removed parts of your posts as name calling was not necessarily needed to get your point across.

Hope to see you on the seas soon!

  • @musicmee
    Name calling ?
Maybe if they start to actually listed to the people having problems and help instead of a dated copy and paste
If anyone got offended by my statement then I apologise
That’s one this the admin should maybe start doing to the community
    That feel robbed

  • @pintsizedog yes it's been out for years but not on your platform. Did you expect a magically finished product from day 1 with no teething issues on a live service game?

I get that it must be frustrating and by all mean if you choose to leave go for it. I'm sure it is their top priority right now but it's no small undertaking launching to a new platform

  • @pintsizedog I can promise you they are listening... the copy and pasting is to help speed up getting responses out. Especially to get the temporary fix news out.

I also promise you that each and every dev working on the issue behind the scenes takes this very personally and is putting all the effort in to get it fixed and affected PlayStation players back sailing again.

Things that require new builds to be pushed take time to get through QA checks and time to make sure they don't cause further issues... While this looks as though it's a "Servers Offline" issue. It isn't sadly.

Like I said previously! I would suggest holding off for that refund (if you can and want to give them a chance) A fix is incoming I am sure.

  • @hiradc im on xbox sx but it should be expectable that a game runs at least when you pay money for it. sure they work on it but 3 or 4 days is a bit much i can understand the ps5 players

  • So go get a refund….
Ride it out until it’s patched, usually the devs get server stability back relatively easily. I think severs need 5 ships not 6 and we’ll see some improvement.

I just don’t understand the coming on here to advertise you are returning the product, ok so do so.

  • I'm gonna "pull a Bacon" (ba-dum-tsss) here: wait for a fix or get a refund and wait for the next sale, as it should def be fixed by then.

And if I were to tell you something in my own fashion, that would be:

Is this your first live-service game (or just any game) ever purchased on any platform? Cuz you can't seriously be expecting any issue to be fixed that fast, especially with large scope multiplayer games such as SoT, basically on a "release" (PS release in this case).

What's even worse, is that in this case you have communication between 3 parties - MS, Playstation, AND SoT servers. Simply because of that fact you should be more reasonable when it's about connection issues. Patience is a virtue. Otherwise, Playstation Store/support is the place to be for a refund.

Also, what do you expect to hear from moderators or even devs? Fixed date and time ETA for a fix? That's not how it works in anything software related, which reinforces the idea you're either super young or inexperienced on the matter.

EDIT: And yes, they're aware of it. And yes, they're actively working on fixing it.

  • @r3vanns if servers not hacked 4 days off time is way to long. thats what happen when devs rush updates and with every update comming new bugs. Sot wasnt never in a bad shape like the last months, the game isnt stable and has plenty bugs

  • @da-german420

In that case, I'll say - if you can't live without a game for 4 days, another reason more to either try some other ones (+/- get a refund on this one), or touch some grass. It's healthy.

I'm not saying 4 days isn't long. I'm not saying last couple of months were perfect (I'm daily experiencing rubberbanding all the time on every 2-3min), but that doesn't warrant behavior like OPs, nor gives him any right for such an angry fit.

  • @pintsizedog honestly this is 100% what i expected. rare was hyping up the playstation release so much but in the meantime havent done anything to improve stability the game has bugs that are 6 years old and they needed to put their best foot forward instead they bring in a whole new player base for them to see "wow this game is 6 years old and its STILL this buggy?!?!1"

though if you look at the steam reviews they started out pretty negative mostly because of the people who got the copy for free and were just airing their grievances from the years of buggy gameplay over the windows store only years.

basically the community that has stuck around just embraces the game for what it is and all its buggy quirks. there seems to be some foundational things in this game that are wonky when they try to add anything to the game which just tends to break things. seeing the same bugs pop up after being fixed 5x in the past. not sure what the issue is but if i understood the behind the scenes video this is the 1st game some of the team has ever worked on so... but yea they are doing less frequent updates under the guise of "we are taking our time so we can release less buggy updates" and literally every update is broken in some way or another.

i cant think of a single update in this games history that hasnt been a buggy mess
