Raid Voyages are Despawning Actively Progressed World Events

  • I am unsure if anyone has noticed or mentioned this issue yet.

Essentially, Raid Voyages are actively removing world events from your servers in favor of the raid voyages, and this needs to change.

My crew was playing the other day, and decided to do a Fort of Fortune that popped up. After completing multiple waves of the Fort of Fortune, they noticed a Sloop coming for the fort. They stopped doing the fort for a few minutes and sailed out to sink the Sloop, also sank a Skeleton Sloop that came over as well, all the while still in ear shot of the Fort's music, meaning they were still within range of the active world event and should have been stopping it from despawning. As they turned to return to the Fort of Fortune they noticed the cloud was gone and replaced by an Ashen Winds vortex. They checked the Fort to make sure it had really despawned, thinking there was no way this could have happened while they were actively at it. Yes, the fort was in fact done. The vault was open and empty. They sailed over to the Ashen Winds, to find a grade 4 or 5 Athena Emissary doing a Raid Voyage.

Now, I have my own opinions about Raid Voyages and how I think they are bad overall for several reasons. Less Loot Value Overall, Stronghold Items not being in the Vaults, Wraithballs/Captain Skulls not being dropped by Ghost Fleets.

But this, makes me hate them even more. I already think that it's bad enough that Raid Voyages are actively making the servers loot less valuable by existing (whether it's by raw gold/rep value, or by commendation items and sandbox items being removed from said Raid Voyages).

This is something that desperately needs to be looked at. If the server has spawned a natural event like a Fort of Fortune or Fleet of Fortune in any capacity, they should NOT be despawned in favor of a Raid Voyage. ESPECIALLY the Fort of Fortune and Fleet of Fortune specifically, but would also like to see other natural events persisting until natural despawn times.

Now this incident was recorded on a twitch vod, but unless people ask for it I won't post it. I'm not fluent with the Forum rules and do not wish to "advertise" someone's stream just because of an issue.

  • I have seen them despawn an event that had just popped up. We had a FoF spawn, then despawn about 30 seconds later to be replaced by an Ashen Lord.
