Staves at order of souls and Reapers additions

  • I’d like to see more interaction and exchange with the npcs around the game. One thing I’m up for is on further differentiation between the trading companies. Where as merchant sells fireworks, cannonballs, wood, and food, I believe order of souls should sell staves and cursed items that deplete with charges like the skull of flames for example. The caveat of course, being that you may not re- sell these items and/or might require some form of item sacrifice like snake meat and cannonballs will be used up to create things like green cursed balls.

The pros for this is that it will allow for better gold flow in trading and exchange of value in the sea of thieves. Furthermore, I recommend that order of souls sells the green cursed balls. My reasoning is that their rarity isn’t balanced currently by their usefulness. If we look at the way they work, they really only provide a small limited time effect on players, the cons:
only 1 may be used at a given time, some don’t affect enemy npc, they cause no ship damage, and have to be fairly precise on hitting players. And finally, they are super rare to come by which doesn’t give much incentive to use them.

In terms of staves I propose:

    trident of dark tides

devils roar torch stave: throws fire balls in a volley with air splash damage and burning effect

stave of Deep torrents which shoots a blast of water knocking back foes it comes into contact with.

Stave of siren’s sorrow: basic attacks summons a shark head apparition to bite close range, charge attack allows you to summon a crab apparition to do a shockwave attack, and block button summons siren apparitions for long range small projectile bubble attacks. Apparitions disappear after each consecutive attack.

Rod of Storms: Shoots Lightning balls for crowd control Lightning chains and paralyzes targets hit for a few seconds

I also propose that reapers are able to sell anything that the other trading companies sell, as they are the faction that probably meddles in the affairs of the other trading companies. This includes cursed green balls and skulls, tridents, and resources like cannonballs, wood, and food

  • @red0demon0 From Lore's point of view these things wouldn't make sense.

Cursed cannonballs are not well regarded by the Pirate Lord or the companies, they are a creation of Flameheart and Wanda brought them back with magic that turned her into a skeleton.

Skulls are used to extract memories, not to be used as weapons, and perhaps they have more magical uses, I doubt that Oos would sell an Ashen Lord Skull to serve as a flamethrower.

Reapers have even less reason to sell the skulls of their own servants

As for other resources that reapers could sell, the things that other companies sell, I don't see why, but I wouldn't mind buying resources at reapers hideout.

In terms of gameplay, cursed bullets should never be sold, I don't think so either, tridents too mainly because they are easy to get and help a lot in PVE in events, ashen skulls for the gameplay I don't see a problem with but the price would need to be expensive.

I see the need for more ways to spend money other than on cosmetics, buying consumables or other things, but I think this is not the solution.

  • Maybe tridents. Everything else is too OP. and honestly tridents are pretty potent too. I have better aim with those suckers than with the EoR and they can completely wipe a rival crew's deck if you land a solid teir 3 bubble.

There was one time I used one while defending and kept shooting the cannoneer off and telling him to "cut it out." he ends up getting frustrated and just goes "WELL WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!" to his helm. They are a very powerful item to be bought with gold.

And for CCB, those are easier to land than chainshots and some combos of them are basically a free sink. One time I brought a grog ball and a ballast ball into HG. I didn't hear what the other guy said, but if I was him, I'd have to talk a walk after that.
