Early versions of Ship Trinkets & Emissary reward cosmetics.. cannot be used once upgraded. :(

    ID like to point out that.. with things like ship Paintings & Emissary rewarded cosmetics.
    Once you Upgrade the item to a "Nicer" version.. the previous version of said item is no longer usable..

    example: You have a beaten up/ battered looking boat that you want to put paintings w the ragged looking wooden frame..
    however, you have already purchased the upgraded frames that are all gold and jewel encrusted. Why cannot we use the previous versions?
    Or am i mistaken? can we somehow use the old frames?

    Long story short.. i have a ugly boat that i want to put ugly trinkets and painting on.. but i cannot because i have already purchased the upgraded version.. which eliminates the previous version from being equipable.

    It sure would be nice if i could use the previous versions of those items... i did pay gold for them afterall..

    Yeah I'm with you on this. The frames and bases for the trinkets should be customisable even though the item has been fully upgraded.

    I do really wish they would update this. I like the gaudy frames in the context of my galleon that I will never sail, but in the sloop? I'm almost tempted to stay at steel with some of these trinkets.

    Yeah, I feel the same. I like to buy everything when I earn it, but I'd also love to have the basic versions available for cosmetic purposes. That's why I haven't bought yet the upgraded versions of many paintings and most of the fish trinkets. It would be great if we could choose what frame or trinket base we want to display.
