It's all in the title.
This is infuriating.
We're not all PvPers-to-the-bone. I'm part of the people who will stop this buggy mess of a mode at once, when I unlocked the cosmetics I want and the commendations. I have nothing against PvP but tis game has much more to offer and I prefer fights that happen organically in the game world anyway.
That being said, I know I'm not the only one out there thinking like this, and I sure am not the only completionist in this game.
Now imagine my friend and I, separately, both win 200 games (days of gameplay, I'm not talkiing 10 minutes). The only difference being he faced the opposite faction every time, while I was matched against the same faction. Now he's got his skelly part and I don't, while we did the same. This is quite infuriating if you ask me.
Furthermore, it's not even gonna be a 50/50 proportion of same-faction battles. Same-factions battles already happen MORE than regular ones, due to the fact the playerbase is not evenly spread between the 2 depending on time of the day.
The grind was already the worst pain, as stated numerous times by many people here and elsewhere, and now sometimes it doesn't even count, if the game decided to not give you the right conditions.
Rare. It's an easy fix. Either give us the choice (I personally wouln't mind waiting more) or just fix this so that a win = progress towards the commendation, regardless of the faction (these are the same ships, there's NO difference).
Here, you're placing Lore above Gameplay and I think this is a very dangerous path to follow. You came up with a lore explanation (let's imagine they are training vs each other)... Well you know what benefit training has in real life ? It gives you experience and skill (commendation).
I, for once, will start protesting this by not fighting ships my own faction. This is exacerbated by the fact this is really trivial. NO ONE will care that a sunken Servant counted as a Guardian, or vice-versa.
