Problem inviting people

    Hello everyone. My problem is more linked to the use of Xbox Bar, as it is the first time I use this program to play a game.

    I bought the game through Steam, and when playing it for the first time, it forced me to create an Xbox account which is supposedly linked to the Steam account.

    The problem comes when I want to play with people who do not play through Steam. If I want to invite them to play, giving Windows + G and looking for that person, the "Invite to play" option appears grayed out and does not let me invite. I can only invite people through my Steam friends list, but of course, if I want to play with people who do not use it and do not have Steam account, I can not in principle play...

    It wouldn't be a problem for me at first because, on the other hand, people who don't use Steam can invite me, the thing is that, when the time comes to have my own captained ship, I see that I won't be able to play with people on my ship...

    Any solution?

    If they are people that are on your game bar friends list, you could invite them in-game (if they appear online).

    @lem0n-curry That is what one expects but no, when the other person is online, I am in the crew room ready to leave, going to the game bar, I see that person connected, and when I want to invite him, it does not let me.

    I can only invite people that I have added to Steam apparently.

    Click on Esc, Choose My Crew, Crew Management, Click on 1 for Invite Friends.
    For me that shows me people I befriended through the xbox companion / game-bar.

    Strange, are there perhaps privacy settings or share options turned off that don't permit sharing of your Game Bar friends ?

    @lem0n-curry Well, I would like to know, if there is, and where. Sorry for my ignorance of using the Xbox bar but it is the only game I use it for and I've always been either Play or PC (with Steam) hahahaha

    It might be the default privacy settings for the xbox(Microsoft) account. Try this:

    Sign in to your Microsoft account at Xbox.com.
    Select your gamertag, and then select the More actions button (…).
    Select Xbox settings, and then select Privacy & online safety.

    Make sure to go through all the categories under privacy as there are a few that might be getting in your way. You want to make sure that any setting that pertains to online multiplayer allows everyone and not just friends or blocked.

    That’s very odd. I hope their support ticket system gets fixed soon and you can ask customer service for help. I’m not sure what else it might be.

    For me personally, the only issue I have is that people who use Steam can’t invite me if I am set to offline. They can find me, but can’t invite me. When I set to online they can invite me. So I doubt this is your issue though.
