During xQc, Summit1g stream, they were getting invite spammed by one person and getting constant in-game invite popups. One had to completely change privacy setting that affects entire xbox ecosystem that disables in-game voice interaction/chat. Other blocked the spammer's gamertag, but there is no limit of how many people can spam them with invites.
When there are total of 130,000 viewers, 1 person can ruin the entire stream. This also has affect on the spammer as 130,000 viewers now know the spammer's gamertag. Also instances like this gives negative impression for the entire Xbox ecosystem & the game as a whole to all viewers.
There should be option to turn off in-game invite popup. This will solve the problem.
Disable in-game invite notification popup option for Streamers - happened with total 130k viewers
This already exists since the game launched. Just because xQc can't find it doesn't mean it doesn't exists. Do some research before posting stupid questions like this here.
He needs to open Windows game bar (SoT is an Windows/Xbox game, made my Microsoft).
- Windows key + G opens the game bar overlay.
- Click on the settings wheel.
- Go into notifications and disable them.
@mentimjojo if I remember correctly, this affects windows notifications, and does not disable in game popup. I am not 100% sure. But even if that is the correct way, one can’t blame someone for not being able to find an option that is in a Xbox Gamebar setting, when they purchased the game on Steam.
I guess they could solve this by only allowing invites from people you've got added and are active within the game.
Saying that though, they was an option to mute crews in arena and instead of automatically muting them and allowing the user to opt into world chat, they literally removed coms all together in arena.
If they can't solve that issue, and had to go with the worse possible fix do you really really think they'll sort out the spam invite stuff, cos I don't and it's probably easier for these streamers to educate themselves about how a Pc works instead of thinking they know everything about computers cos they can name a GPU or CPU 😂 but can't even do a simple thing like turning off notifications without turning everything else off in the process.

This isn't helpful, and has nothing to do with SoT. Try, perhaps, being a bit more constructive with why you think it's not so great...

You act as if this isn't already done. The Xbox ecosystem for Pc is horrendous. For a company that has such major ties to Pc (Microsoft), its a joke on the level of quality these apps have. People are just tired of dealing with it, there really isn't many excuses that can fly here.
