@capt-sharazad The reason I asked was looking through a spyglass at an emissary ship or skeleton ship plays an ominous few notes of music. This is new. Doesn't sound like your issue though.
@capt-sharazad Be advised... if the ship is too far away, the notes wont play. Also, centering it in the scope seems to also be a factor.
@taternuggets got sunk and then dc'd trying it I got close to skelle galleon and nothing the other players of the server were erm.... "less than helpful" :P
@baronbrr Its really not. a couple of seconds of intense, loud, ominous music is not ambience. From what its looking like, but i have not confirmed it plays when you "Spot" an Emissary ship. Just need to confirm or refute it.
@capt-sharazad Oh that's just the music cue when you spot another ship (ghost, player, emissary) through your telescope.
@baronbrr I can confirm its not player ships, Sailed right up next to a brig looking through my tele' - nothing. Nor a Skellie galleon

The sound reminds me of mermaid statues, but I have found sunken loot instead of mermaids. Usually chests.

Sorry. I missed the “ Ominious ” part of the original post. Pretty sure that I’ve heard this before emissary ships started. I thought it had to do with smelly ships.

It did. The sound used to play only when you spotted a skeleton ship on the horizon with your spyglass. They changed it a couple weeks back.
