Can we make skeleton fleet loot float longer/be in a floatation device?

  • I've been farming skeleton ships, and one thing that has been annoying me and my buddies, is that loot sinks after 5 minutes.

So we kill galleon number 1 on the skeleton fleet. If we want the loot, we have to immediately drop the rowboat, and send a person to grab the loot out of the water. So suddenly, we are a person down. This is very bad because for skeleton galleons, you have to board them if you want to make them sink without using 100 cannonballs. what makes this even worse, is that you sometimes don't even have enough time to grab the loot if you sink two ships at once. you only have one rowboat, and that the loot doesn't appear right after you sink them. The boat has to sink, which often moves the ship a great distance, and then the loot floats up.

What I think, is that we should either make the loot from skeleton ships not sink until like 20 minutes after the skeleton fleet fight is over, or make the loot float up in a chest or something that can float for a longer time, like a one use floatation device, so we can actually get the fruits of our labor.

  • Whoa whoa whoa. You need to sink them with 100 cannonballs without a boarder? Just hit lower deck holes, they go down in 10-15.

Tip: If you are shooting a ship, and you see the cannonball's impact, you are shooting too high.

  • When fleets first appeared to SoT you had 30 seconds to a minute to at least get the loot that floated up...now they spawn the next wave before the loot even floats up.

If I remember correctly if your ship did not move with sails and sat in the water the next wave did not spawn until you moved...especially if you where near a rock when it sank.

That is not the case now.

  • I always try to engage the fleet beside rocks, as this allows you time to gather treasure as the newly spawned ships will sail around them, unable to fire at you, giving you the time you need to harpoon the loot in.. And as a bonus, those idiot skeletons will often crash and do half the job for you.

This method makes taking on the fleet solo very easy, so with a crew, it's child's play.

  • Could not have seen something more agreeable, them sloops at the start? Might as well forget about any chance of that loot.
