Most efficient way to farm resources fast?

  • This method i have been thinking of is not tested so i would love feedback as to whether this would work or not. I am a little unsure.

So normally to get resources i would of found a storage crate then hit up the forts for cannonballs and outposts etc.

However on average i get about 30 cannonballs per island.
Factoring in the time to get there etc etc here is my idea.

Is it more efficient sailing island to island looking purely for rowboats and crates which are either storage, fruit, ball or plank?

Its just some have 50, which can equate to like 2 islands worth. Sometimes you can have multiple crates and even a rowboat with resources in.

Stop at a normal island, loop the beach picking up crates, loading them onto any rowboat there, putting on the ship as opposed to outpost and fort hopping?

It seems this would be the best and fastest way but i have not tested this. Would this work?
Has anyone gave this any thought?

  • @daringclarky

I usually use storage crates in the outposts, but in fact, on any island that I stop I take everything. Without storage crates it’s kind of slow to get things.

One thing I usually do is to find inattentive players and enter their ship with my storage crate to take everything without them seeing me. If they see, I spawnkill them until everything is mine.

  • @targasbr Thats quite impressive. Risky but i like it. Might try this.

  • @daringclarky Personally I prefer to find a balance between collecting supplies and getting on with doing what I intend to do. I strip pretty much everything from the starting outpost then head off on my intended voyage. Along the way I jump ship at floating barrels or cannon over to nearby islands to fill my pockets as best I can whilst leaving the ship to go on its course, then mermaid back to empty my pockets, then repeat until I get to where I'm going. Once there, if I find a supply create I'll take it to any island I'm visiting to fill up. Otherwise, I don't go out of my way to sail to islands just to find supplies as that would get pretty tiresome for me.

I may not have a massive amount of supplies, but I feel this is the most efficient use of time between A and B.

  • We dont' stop at all and just supply while in transit. While we do miss out on storage crates, we get our goals accomplished quicker. Every time you pass an island hop off empty and mermaid back with supplies. The same can be said about floating barrel patches. Hell, even in fights only carry food this way you can steal their supplies if you get an opportunity. Our crew likes to refer to leaving ship with only food for fights as "Pack a Lunch."

Unless you plan on taking fleets really soon, their is no need to stop in this game.

  • @nabberwar Ive been doing fleets in a brigantine solo. Its went well but i always run out of cannonballs at the final boss.

Im still trying to find a way i can get lots of cannonballs to rush back in. Preferably without scuttling as i usually always have a storage crate onboard (I keep my Cbs in there to make reloading much quicker instead of going below deck), I even check the water level through the brig cell bars so only go down when its actually needed.

Man, solo brigging for me is so much better than slooping.
Different strokes for different folks but man i love that ship so much 😁
