New Ship Customizations (And also normal cosmetics)

    This thread will cover the ways I think we could increase the way to customize cosmetics. I have seen stuff like this suggested before but have seen that people have pointed out flaws with it, I will be showing a way to implement some of these without those. (if you find any please let me know)

    1. This is more of a miscellaneous one but I think we should be able to change the lanterns/compasses/clocks on our ship, this could be either a new ship option or just by having the appropriate compass/lantern unlocked normally.
    2. Dyes. In order to make Pirate Legend have something more unique, this would be excluse to Pirate legends, this also helps with one of the issues people have presenting with ship dyes, which is counterfeiting cosmetics. These would cost 250000 for each colour. Once you had this dye you would be able to "make" your own cosmetics in the menu. This would be recolouring cosmetics you own with the colours you own. You could not change the symbols/design etc, only the colours. If possible it would be best if you could customize every bit of the ship/uniform, this way you could open up a lot of customizability. As mentioned earlier, these would be exclusive to Pirate Legends, this would help with the counterfeiting problem as the designs could only be unlocked by the actual cosmetic, and if you really did want to counterfeit a specific item it would 1) not be a perfect copy, and 2) would be much more expensive than just buying the actual copy (reputation does not play in since you already have 50 in 3 factions), if this was still a problem you could lock certain customizations that would make it look too much like another set.

    Id like to see a few variants of the PL outfit, ideally to purchase rather than just have in the inventory.

    Iv seen a lot of people complain about the purple color of the PL outfit and I have to agree its very loud and somewhat an acquired taste.

    If there were some color variants, say a black, red, blue, green etc. Deep and cool color variants it would add some diversity to Legends.

    Or ideally have a few different sets differently designed. A red one thats more tattered and battle worn, to symbolize say pvp and combat. A bone styled one for pve, a more native inspired one for those who prefer delivering animals. A green one with grog spilled on it for the more comedic pirate.

    Something to add a bit more personality to our legends. Legends shouldn't all look the same, they should be able to show their status with some level of personality and uniqueness.

    The battle-torn red one you suggest reminds me of that Legendary Reaper set suggested a while back, which mimicked a sort of Reaper's Mark themed set for legends. It had the icons, colors, and glow of the Reaper's Mark, and a variety of commendations for doing various things involving the Reaper's Mark and reaper's chests.

    I think a cool idea although admittedly a lot of work to implement would be to make some outfits that represent certain things in the game. A reaper outfit (that mimics the reaper chests), a Captains Set (gold with a red jewel), Skeleton Outfit (Has a skull on the belt or something), Megladon outfit (has teeth and stuff on it). Put those behind some new commendations, give legends something more unique. It would also allow players to build their characters look to what they like best in the game.

    Do you like fishing the most, here have a Pirate Legend Fishing Outfit (had lures on the belt, Made from Shark Skin and teeth), just something different. Maybe you spend most of your time doing forts, (outfit with a vault key, some bones). Something to make things more personal but also diverse.

    The problem with your dye idea is that we already have repeat cosmetics with different colors. Sea Dogue and Rogue Sea Dog, for instance - if you could dye them, you'd essentially have the same outfit, so knowing this, why would you ever buy the rogue set if you could just get the dye upon reaching PL?

    For this reason, I don't think it would work. For it to work, I only see 1 solution - radically change the repetitive outfits we already have, and to be frank, I just don't see Rare making that happen, nor do I see a portion of the community being happy about that.

    Those are pretty good ideas, though the skeleton one is pretty close to the existing Bone Crusher set. If that set or a similar one was to ever come back permanently, it would certainly have a place there.

    @galactic-geek I see your point but if the dyes were expensive enough that a perfect counterfeit would cost much more than the actual set, it could be discouraged. If you already had the dyes and the set I could see you counterfeiting, maybe they could add on a sort of seal or something, that way you know its an original set. My idea more discouraged buying dyes for the point of counterfeiting, not really counterfeiting once you already have the dyes. Good point. Oh they could also make it so you cant make counterfeit sets, like you physically couldn't dye certain things in certain colours if it would make them look exactly like another set. I don't see a problem with allowing people to have sets that look almost exactly the same (maybe a bit of a difference with a symbol on the front of ships) if it requires more effort to get that set to be almost exactly the same than to buy the actual set.
