Quick backstory: Aug 6th I think may have been 7th
Most people were having issues with xbox services and couldn't get on for some reason i wasn't having issues and decided to jump on a solo sloop to log some athenas miles.
So there I was sailing through the sea of thieves i sailed across the map 3 times with the slight hope for some pvp. Coming to the end of my third trip I was beginning to think I was alone on my server.
But then, I had a flicker of hope a beacon was lit!
I turned tail because I was approaching the northwest edge of the shroud.
Having evidence that I wasn't alone I was determined to find those pesky pirates that were on the waters.
About 7 squares later I seen proof that I wasn't alone there was a brig parked at a sea post.
I began to tack my ship into the wind
A few short moments later I was able to clearly see two pirates fishing off the sea post
I decided my best course of action was to hang off the opposite ladder so they wouldn't see me jump off my sloop.
Once I was in the water I waited for a underwater fight to commence.
Nothing happened.
I started to climb their ladder waiting for a third pirate to attack
A attack never happened.
I ran to their stairs ready to attack said third pirate.
There wasn't one
I ran to wheel prepared to commandeer the ship
The anchor was down
I ran to the anchor
Each click of the anchor felt like an hour I turned around ready to fight both fishing pirates...
10 feet away and they weren't paying any attention
Drop the rear sail and tried to turn away the ship caught the dock
Both fishermen grabbed their weapons one missed jumping from the dock to the ship the other got on the ship and jumped off after a short fight.
Both pirates swam in horror as their ship went down.
Once it went down I turned tail and grabbed my mermaid. Back on my sloop I was sailing around again
A few moments later I spotted beer sails on the horizon the same beer sails I just sank.
They are full sails ahead and gaining quick I raised my sail halfway to accept the battle
Many shots were fired many planks were hammered. One of them caught my ladder a few times but with luck I caught them each time.
The fog begin to roll in I eventually out manoeuvred the brig I got out of the fog and didn't see them.
I noticed uh oh my wind sight is gone and I can't see where to put my sail.
I looked behind and didn't see them.
I jumped off my ship then caught a mermaid
Still can't see the wind I decided I'd have to die and regain the wind sight.
I jumped off the crows nest once.
I can see their ship now they seemed very far away so I decided to make the gamble to get my sight back
I jumped off again
Still alive I looked back they are getting very close and I realized I'm in trouble. I limped back to the wheel and attempted some manoeuvrs I kept trying to guess where the wind was catching it periodically but not fast enough.
One of those pirates cannoned over landing on my deck
I panicked realizing I have a sliver of health and no food. We both dodged a shot
A pretty solid sword fight comensed with myself falling to my grave
I spawned back in hoping to redeem myself and instantly fell
I spawned back to loads of cannon fire I was sinking with nothing I could do. A moment later I was sunk.
Some very proper well played were traded between myself and their crew loads of laughter and excitement was had on my end I really hope they shared some of that excitement.
Anyways I'm not a writer and wanted to share this experience hopefully someone enjoys the read I'd be stocked if the other crew reads this.
