My extremly unenjoyable experience in the arena

Because of the chest you get some smart strategic play i really like this part. All other points i guess i agree it took me a full day to find 1 working open crew..

Maybe i need some help and tips how to organise 4 new players on a galleon before the match is over xD

The Arena was not marketed to us as a "PvP mode" it was marketed as a competitive game mode, and it was intended to be a more condensed version of the Sea of Thieves experience, which it succeeds at being. At present it is a good framework for what will be a fantastic competitive mode for Sea of Thieves.

Fighting other players comes as a part of needing to get the chests. The real issue I think is that sometimes there are a lot of different maps available which causes the competition to spread out too much. What they really need to do is reduce the number of different islands that have chests at any given time so as to keep the competition tight and heated.

As for your other issues, if you want to play with experienced and well organized people, you'd be better off using the official Discord. Problem solved, trust me.

EDIT: As @MarsMayflower after me states, if you want your Arena experience to be more based on fighting, pay close attention to which crew is digging tons of chests and go and sink them. I've won that way many times as well.

LFG for a real crew. You could just sink ships and steal their chests.

Well there ya go, you solved your own problem. Get a crew. You can't seriously expect to do well in a game that relies so much on teamwork, when all you do is play with randoms....

If you want to improve in pirate fighting, combat piloting, or naval artillery, Arena gives you that opportunity without stocking a ship and hunting for targets in Adventure.

You get 4800 gold for winning, 1600 gold for not quitting.

There are great random players in Arena.
Helping a team of randoms pull off a come-from-behind victory is more satisfying than roflstomping eventual quitters.

Makes Arena a good addition by Rare.
Expect it getting better over time.

Somehow I don't think you truly know what the word 'mature' means. And I also don't think anyone at the company you are attempting to take to task gives one iota of credence to posts that could easily have been written by a petulant 12-year-old. It would serve your cause much more to provide feedback in an actually constructive manner, rather than, "ur games sucks and the goal of ur game is stupid oh and btw ur forum filters suck".

PUG groups are hit or miss in this game. If you get a cohesive crew STICK WITH THEM. They are rare.

Otherwise, get your friends together and win.

Okay. Why on earth are people still here complaining about this.

Get yourself a crew from the Official SoT discord, or the Reddit SoT discord.
And go in as a closed crew. you will have a blast. The arena is fantastic and we love it, But we have like 50 people in our discord who play SoT and we all crew up when we wanna play.

I understand that rando crews are hard, but t hats why I took two easy steps to avoid them

Discord is on yoru phone, get a headset and use it, miles better than xbox party chat.

And actual Rare Employees are in that discord, so its almost like, they know its the best way to crew up and use it.

@spartem well I play League so yes u can if u just use a rank system or something like that which match people using skill level instead of making crews of random people

@ankryss IMO they are way more in need of leaver penalties than a ranked system. Whenever me and my crew play it is extremely rare that all ships stay until the end.

So always the same "look for a crew". So u rely on third-party apps because the developers can provide us with useful tools and systems like other games have to avoid this kind of bad experience. You can play csgo alone, u can play lol alone, you can play pubg aloe, etc... They have systems to prevent bad behaviours so the soloQ experience is good, why I need to look for something which de developers should have been taken on account, I feel always the same with this game, beautiful game with bad playability.

@ankryss They do try to have a matchmaking system, but it doesnt always work, and they are aware of that, but there will always be griefers and bad plays in the rando crew system, that only use that system to ruin your day.

There is a better system that ensures you get a better crew. They even mod it. Its Official, Its a better tool than they could create.

The Tool is there, you are aware of it, you are choosing not to use it.
