Had a idea for something I think would make the game more fun and actually help the crew of the ship. My suggestion is that we maybe could have ship mascot's/ companions like monkeys if they was to be added or the already existing parrots what can be found in game.
I was thinking it would be a nice idea if the companions lived on the ship and was able to alert the crew to enemy ships close by as well as when people who aren't apart of the crew board the ship, if a fight does end up breaking out on deck maybe the animal could attack the enemies inflicting different amounts of damage to enemies depending on the type of animal the crew has at that point in time.
Also when ya close to a ship wreck or a load of barrels they alert you, as well as every now and then casually make noises and say word if it's the parrots.
How I think you'd acquire said companion is you'd have to lure them with the different required food for each respective animal as well as different amounts of the food depending on the strength of said animal, also once you have one on your ship you have it for every game until it is killed in a fight maybe.
Again these are just my thoughts but I've run them past a couple of my mates who I play with and we all agree it would add that extra something to make the game even more fun.
