Issues with Pioneer/Insider Program

    As a long time SoT Insider, Founder, and Pioneer, I am excited for the changes that are coming to both the program and the game. However, after today's SoT:P update, which is now called SoT:I, I can no longer access it. I get an error message saying that my preorder was canceled and/or refunded. I looked it up in the store, and it's installed and ready to launch. I thought maybe I'd have to sign up using the XBL Insider app, like I did in the past, but it won't start up either, with an error message telling me it's not installed, but after checking my storage, it definitely is installed, so I'm not sure what's going on there. I then checked the Pioneer section of the forums and discovered an official post from 5 days ago that essentially said I had to re-sign up as an Insider, and it provided a link to do so. However, after clicking accept, it doesn't work, and I'm met with yet another error message that suggests that I raise a support ticket. However when I tried, all I get is the FAQ. I can see my past requests but see no way to raise a new ticket. Also, all 3 of my forum badges were still present as of this morning...

    I'm frustrated, and would like some help. I've been very active and helpful in the past within the Pioneer program, and would like to continue that trend, but I'm starting to feel like I'm being punished for some unknown reason . Did I miss some super-secret deadline or something? Why do I even have to re-sign up to begin with? I really don't want to miss out on everything it has to offer. Please get your ducks in a row, Rare, because you're starting to turn me into an ugly duckling here...

    It most likely has something to do with the ongoing work to relaunch the Insider program which will allow Pioneer access for all Insiders.

    Never fear, all will be answered tomorrow as that is when they have rescheduled the launch for.

    @little-squash While I'm grateful for your reply that essentially explains that I'm a day early (better to be early than late), it exacerbates my hatred of Twitter - I always receive too many frivolous Tweets that I care nothing for, and never see any of the ones that I actually would care to see ! Whatever happened to providing updates on official sources (you know, like from the official website)?

    Forget the ducks... Where's my Launch Crew EoR? I'm going hunting for blue birds!

    EDIT: Finally got through after the umpteenth try. Figures... 😒

    @triheadedmonkey @Skulliah Whoever reads The Insider section of the forums anymore? I haven't seen anything meaningful happen there in months! What makes you think I'd know to check there so suddenly out of the blue?

    @triheadedmonkey You guys overcomplicate things unnecessarily and expect too much from us... I want you to hold my hand and walk me through it like I'm 5 dagnabbit! I don't like having to get error messages, being run in circles, or finding out things from outside unofficial sources or from obscure areas of the site that nobody ever looks at anymore. It's a waste of my time.

    @Skulliah I already knew about that - it's what I found earlier today, that I mentioned in my initial post. It's worth mentioning that it was buried under like 5 much older posts - I was fortunate to have seen it at all! Aren't newer threads supposed to appear at the top?

    Just tried to play SoT:I, and despite being accepted back into the program, I'm still getting the same error message, and can't access it. Is this the part where I have to wait until tomorrow or what?

    So how do I sign up? XD Seriously I don't know how and parts of this website are not intuitive like going to "news" but there are no news instead what I assumed to be there is in "support".

    @galactic-geek Well, apparently you forgot to Opt in before the 12th cuz you pioneers got a headsup and could register earlier.
    Unless you did it...then its odd indeed

    @reapinglegion Again, having a deadline for someone who was already a part of the program, is kind of well, not a good idea.

    For those of you wanting to get in, try going to https://www.seaofthieves.com/insider/upgrade, and see if that works for you - it worked for me (granted, after many, many tries).

    This link will only work for existing Pioneers (as stated in the post in the Pioneers section) Please be careful with the information you are sharing.

    Again, you've got a headsup. - And many pioneers was inactive....i had like 20 of them on my friendslist and only one of them ran the Pioneer at some point.
    So i understand why they did as they did.

    And AGAIN, that link is for Pioneers....theres another one circling around which was just "insider" and not that "upgrade" thingy :P

    @musicmee Apologies. I thought we were all being thrown into the same Insider boat so that it didn't matter. I promise to be more careful in the future. Wait? Does this mean that I get to feel extra special for being an early Pioneer? Will I get a prize!?

    In other news, I STILL CAN'T ACCESS THE INSIDER BUILD, and it seems like I'm not the only one.
