Just as we loaded our ship lovely Karen the Kraken decided to spawn to see what’s up. Thankfully we had a row boat so still was able to sell the loot, myself and other crew mate stayed on as we had bananas on us the other two left in rage. Even when we were escaping via rowboat Karen picked us up, what a pain! I guess it is a fun challenge? At the same time can be frustrating when you’ve had to battle off other ships coming to take fort loot off you etc... anyhoo, well played Karen well played, ya didn’t get ma booty today though.

yup, sounds like Karen. People say that she follows the treasure, so the more valuables you have, the more likely she'll target you. People also say that she can't spawn if there is an active raid going on. So, the chances of her attacking you after you load a bunch of fort loot onto your boat are (in theory) higher than you'd think.
@Crazy-JockMcMad You know that the Kraken is easy to defeat than you think it is. It takes two to three down tentacles and then you're done. Me and my crewmate did it and it has been something that we want to do from time to time. Because the loot in drops is well worth the time and experience. Just make sure that that one ship you had to battle for the fort doesn't see you in that sticky situation, otherwise it will not he good. Have fun out in the high seas captain!
I can see why people think the kraken is attracted to loot but I feel that's a misconception. I do however believe in the fact that the kraken, skeleton fort, and ship battle can't exist at the same time. That's why people tend to get attacked as they leave a fort because it's that small window between clouds when the kraken is active. I used to avoid the kraken by sitting close to an island waiting for the next cloud, but with the recent nerf to the kraken against sloops, I've actually gone out trying to get it to attack me.

The funniest thing.. i experienced it twice.. Started game, gathered materials for my sloop and as soon as i left ooutpost - kraken spawned, after 30 sec on my way..
I wish this happens to me...easiest thing in this game is to kill the kraken while on a sloop
You caught the eye of the kraken and it was out to drag you to the bottom of the seas. The kraken doesn't care what you are doing and how much you have on board. It just does what it naturally does.
It can be frustrating as a pirate, but in the end sea creatures are not considering your situation. It is one of the many dangers of the seas that you should always be prepared for.
@crazy-jockmcmad Just so you know for future reference.. Karen spawns only when there is no event cloud in the sky.. So if the Fort has just been completed Karen will spawn on someone.. once another Skull or Ship cloud spawn.. then you are safe 😉
@x5h3ar3rx thank you, when I’m on brig with my dad and bro we purposely hunt for Karen and megs, helps when you know what you are doing and have a good crew. Though I do feel she’s gotten more tough, Karen is one angry kraken lol
@crazy-jockmcmad wouldn't you be angry if each time you go up to nibble on a ship you get shot by those little creatures on it?

@schwammlgott thats true. But i wasnt prepared for it and didnt gather enoque materials to fight him. I better look for barrels in sea and gather mats from them other than running around outpost ;)
