Fun Idead for "Ferry of the damned"

  • So i have a fun idea for the ferry of the damned. When you die you get tossed on the ship as normal. But once the ferry of the damned has 4 people on it, it spawns on the sea and you get to fight anyone on the sea.

So if you lose one of your mates on your ship and another ship loses a 2 people and 3rd ship loses one person then those randoms become a crew on the ferry of the damned. Now once you die on the ferry of the damned then you get tossed back on your normal ship. While on the ferry of the damned you will get Rep the more you kill other boats or other pirates. The thing is you would only get to stay on the ship so you can't jump off the ferry of the damned or go on land.

Now i know what you are thinking what happens if more people die after the 4 are filled? well it will be as normal if the Ferry crew is all filled, you would just go back to your ship. But if everyone on the ferry of the damned crew dies, Then the next 4 people to be on the ferry will get a shot at being the crew. if there is more then 4 on the boat it will be first come in order of appearance on the ferry of the damned.

I know there is a lot to work out and add I would love to see what the rest of you can add to this in reply section.

    See you on the Seas

Although it is a good idea, it sadly doesn't really fit the lore and has some gameplay issues. The Ferry is steered by the Ferryman, and he cannot stop, for he is chained to the wheel. It has 5 remaining cannons, two on one side and 3 on the other, which are all tied to the deck to prevent use. New people constantly get on, which would interfere with the crew of the ship. Plus, there are invisible walls all over it, which are very annoying to deal with (they prevent you from jumping off). The Ferry of the Damned sails the Sea of Sorrow, and I don't know if it is capable of leaving (being a solid object which [I believe] cannot teleport sailing an ocean below the sea it would need to get to). The Ferry appears to need to move to deliver souls, so moving it to the above world would cause it to be unable to function. Also, being on another ship would remove you from your own ship, and if your entire crew dies, then what? I suppose it could be an even where you have to build up maybe six people and call in the Ferry (maybe sacrificing yourselves to it?), maybe at the Portal or something like that. That would solve the issue of it getting there, but not the issue of it functioning. It is a nice concept, but I don't know if it can work.

  • Devs could certainly make the lore fit. There's no telling, maybe the Ferryman has a small fleet of Ghost ships, all crewed by the damned. He's hunting the skellie ships that have evaded their just end, as well as player ships.

While you are a crewman aboard one of the Ferryman's fleet, you look the same, only ghostly.

I like that you can't leave the ship.
