Build the Pirate Coloseum

  • Dear Rare,

A long time ago, the Roman Empire built a coloseum for gladiator combat and animal fights. It helped shape Romes glory for entertainment. I purpose we build a pirate coloseum with that same idea. Pirates can fight each other, skeletons, and other creatures . Everyone would be able to go watch this entertainment. Maybe even charge gold to enter. Let pirates place bets on fights. There is so much opportunity, but the real reason to add this is because it would unite the sea of thieves community!

  • This is too much for Rare, way too much. What about if we just implemented a card game in the taverns where you could bet money. You could find cards while exploring to improve your deck.

  • @macadoodledew
Why do you say it's too much? Rare has the backing of Microsoft- a billion dollar company and plus so many people have been complaining about lack of content. This is an opportunity to expand.

  • @t-degennaro3106 I didn’t mean to trigger you. I believe there is so much more to do first. Like improving ship combat, the kracken, adding things to the ships, and voyage improvement. But hell dude I would not be mad at a gladiatorial arena! Let’s get one. I agree with you. We paid 60$ right? I was just thinking that Rare will probably look over this sadly. But I say it’s still a good idea and I could get behind it

  • @t-degennaro3106 Also wouldn’t you think a tavern card game where you could bet money should come first because pirates played dice and card games in Taverns and on ships? But like I said, the implementation of a gladiatorial arena wouldn’t bother me (tho it’s not pirate like)

  • @macadoodledew
Yes I agree that a tavern board game would be cool. I'm all for anything that can unite the community. And sorry if I came off as too harsh. That was not intended. Hopefully Rare will consider one of our ideas!

  • @t-degennaro3106 Agreed my matey

Sorry guys, gambling won't be introduced into the game.
Joe Neate recently stated during a live twitch stream that transferring gold from one player to other players was too much of a challenge for Rare.
Although gambling hadn't even been looked into (apparently) he said that dice may be introduced for non-monetary bets and to not rule out mini games.

Personally I don't see an issue with taking an agreed amount (the bet) out of one player's in-game account (just like buying something) and putting into the other player's in-game account (just like cashing-in loot).
To me it seems that Joe personally doesn't want this introduced.

  • @admiral-rrrsole Wow that seems more like laziness by Joe than ethics
