Bilge Rat Trading

  • "Bilge Rat Trading – If you’re feeling a thirst for a little extra gold in ye’ pocket or fancy some Reputation in any of the three Trading Companies, the Bilge Rats can also pull a few strings and allow you to trade your Doubloons towards a bit of progress. These latter progression items will be a permanent part of the Bilge Rat shop and aren’t time limited, so make your choice wisely!"

Very excited about this feature due to a couple reasons.

    1. My crew and I do not fancy the Merchant Alliance. While they can be fast, chasing animals around an island or getting spit on by a snake through the deck is not our idea of a great pirate adventure. Through this, we can still boost that faction while focuSing on OoS and GH.

    2. This is not time limited so those joining in later are going ot get the same advantage. YAY!

How much of a boost do you think it will give us in the factions? I wonder if there is a sliding scale on how much you want to spend for your boosts vs it being a give us 5k doubloons and we will bump you an 1/8 of a ring.

This is why I put snakes and GP barrels in the crows nest.

I am not anticipating it giving much of a boost, maybe the value of a fort skull. Just keeping my expectations low so I am not disappointed.

  • @reptartheory I just wish we weren't locked to 100 doubloons from the event. Let me farm that c**p lol.

  • @xcalypt0x Maybe they put a cap on it to keep people from boosting their levels too high? It would make sense so that everyone wasn't magically a pirate legend without doing some of the grinding that others have put in.

  • @reptartheory They should just balance out the amount of reputation gain from the letters of recommendation with the difficulty/time requirement of the event. I have no problem with the weekly events being viable/competitive ways of reaching pirate legend.
