Tavern Tales - Episode 3

  • Ahoy there, me lads and lasses!

Welcome to the third tale on the high seas. This little episode we'll see some Galleon action alongside amazing people and great pirates.

Like all the good stories, this one starts in a poorly lighten tavern. Near the fireplace, at a wooden table, we come across ol' captain @KattTruewalker, sipping some grog out of her dirty tankard.

I was expecting yet another harsh sloopy session, but when she told me that she had something else planned for me, it made me shiver. For a galleon she sent me to fetch a crew and knowing what the consequences would be if I failed, I did as I was told.

Now, i knew that some of my Fleet mates were lurking around these parts so I sent word for them and @GamerAxe0, a lovely bearded woman, and @AdmiralF0x13, a salty sea dog, answered my call. Oh, how I regretted this decision, for Kat works in mysterious ways...

It didn't take long till i found myself on the docks, with my own crew turning against me and taking her side. She got under their skin and twisted their minds so easily.

The sea was calm, a bit too calm for my taste. I tried to tell them that something was out of place, that something didn't feel right, but they still got the anchor up and lowered the sails. If only they listened to me...

We barely sailed a few miles when a roar came from beneath the water, as it turned murky! Karen... old little Karen surfaced to teach us that the seas do no belong to us! She wrapped her tentacles around our ship and tried to pull us down below; though, we fought valiantly and detached one of her slimy members!

Cutting her tentacle didn't come without a price... as we fought hard to set our ship free from its grip, Captain Kat was snatched from before my very eyes! Before you bunch yell at me, I didn't even think of abandoning her there, letting her be torn into pieces by Karen, getting rid of her once and for all... No, we hit the monster with all that we've got, forcing it to retreat back to where she came from.

Something peculiar happened, after escaping this horrific encounter and reaching the safety of an outpost. She, Kat, thanked us for not abandoning her to the will of the creature. Furthermore, she ... offered us a tankard of her famous "Full Moon" grog!

We believed that one particular piece of our ship attracted Karen, our figurehead. I heard an ancient tale about an old king of the seas, a powerful being that took the shape of an old, white beard man. This... man is depicted by our figurehead and so we decided to do one last thing before calling it a night: burn it!

    With love,
