This, can't be said enough. Most gaming communities tend to really exaggerate their issues.
@gloog I tend to agree. It definitely happens on many games, not just this one but I feel like the issue does get blown out of proportion. I mean I've known and played along side people when everytime they lose it must be because the other guy is hacking. Some people can't take the fact they lost to someone better than them.

lol an esp hack and aimbot is all that exists, neither do much at all in sea of thieves, and there is no godmode hack at all, so im guessing you need more practice in game, as does everyone who whines about the nonexistant hacking problem.
also, the hack forum is full of “w*f i got banned?” threads, which is kind of funny.

Even the hint of hacking is a problem that needs to be addressed, but from my time reading these forums and experience from other online pvp games you're 100% accurate about deflection.
The presence of cheating/hacking is massively overstated, some people just need to be honest with themselves and realise that maybe they just got ganked by a better player or made mistakes that lead to them getting their proverbials handed to them.

you can google any game and find a hack video. that doesnt mean all games have hacking problems. hacking here gets you banned, fast, and their hacking forum is full of “waaah i got banned” threads.

I've maybe one hacker in the game, and I'm not even sure if it really was a hacker or just really good shooter. Maybe lucky shot. I don't think its as common as people think or make it seem.
Also what does PC have anything to do with this ?

That is false. The hacks are for the PC.
There are no known hacks for the Xbox One SoT right now. That is an indisputable fact.
It is theoretically possible to manipulate the packets between your Xbox and the servers if you run them through a PC and use a program to edit them. But it would introduce huge latency. And it would make no sense to do that since you can just use the PC and any of a number of hacking programs to cheat client side with no latency.

What he is really trying to say "is only people who are bad at PVP see hackers and that he is so good at PVP he never notices hackers".
To him this issue is an opportunity to get people to see his PVPness.

@lowbei I've seen many if your posts and noticed you can be quite inflammatory, similar to some of your responses in this thread.
You chose a title for this thread that will only serve as CLICKBAIT. You know full well that cheating is occuring because a simple search and you will find video evidence of cheating.
Even RARE has officially released a statement saying that a very small population of players are cheating and they will be dealt with appropriately.
Cheating is not rampant in this game and it prevalence is definitely being exaggerated but your claims that it simply does not exist are completely false. Just because you haven't seen it does not mean it does not exist.
More importantly, (and on a side note) there's no need to be so hostile to your fellow gamers just because they have a different opinion to your own.
Some of the points you have raised I completely agree with but would love to see you using more inclusive and supportive language. It makes for better discussion!

As has been mentioned on the website and in the recent podcast, Rare take all reported instances of hacking and cheating extremely seriously and these reports will be investigated thoroughly with a zero tolerance approach.
If anyone suspects cheating, then raise a ticket with Support and report the incident with as many details as possible.
Cheating
We have seen a few reported instances of cheating, where players are compromising the game client or using programs to gain an advantage over other players. Everyone should understand the seriousness with which we treat this, and anyone identified as taking part will have action taken against them, up to and including permanent Xbox Live account bans. We have a zero tolerance approach to this.
Investigating: We are investigating and have detected some instances of suspicious behaviour, and will be taking direct action against anyone abusing the game in this way. The number of people we are currently investigating who show suspicious behaviour make up an extremely small portion of our player base. Work is ongoing against this as a high priority, once we are certain we have identified people cheating we will swiftly ban them.

This is Rare explicitly admitting hacking is happening, they are aware of it, are investigating it, and will take action.

I am glad they made it a priority and plan to ban them, wish they would ban their game client, any game clients on the same Microsoft or Xbox live account. Hell, even repeal any licenses for the Microsoft Office or productivity software and have it so the next time they log into their PC there is a"This is not a genuine copy of Microsoft Windows" message across the bottom of their desktop. Also their forum access. Would we still be seeing you then Lowbei?

Dont worry, deflection of fault is common. If it wasnt “hacking”, these people would be blaming lag or their busted controller.
You´re a lucky guy then. Our crew haven´t this much luck. We lost a full fort reward and many other chest and skulls of our journey in other words many hours of gameplay. Not because they sunk us. Just because they 1-hit with the pistol everyone, spawncamp with this abbility and beeing "immortal". This had nothing to do with the servers or something. Our whole crew couldn´t kill one guy in a corner getting hit by 4 swords. And we´re not boons.
This was no skill. There are people who are really hard to kill but then you fight with them and loose to a better pirate. That is fine. But if you want to fight and get killed instant with a weapon witch hasn´t this abbility like the "point blank blunder" it´s no fun.
We had them all on video and there is enough proof of cheating people on the web.
But respect the forum rules! Rare don´t want discussions on cheats!

Hmmn...he was eating bananas. You had to slash him over 12 times....hmmmm. It sounds like, now bear with me, it sounds like maybe the bananas were healing him at a faster rate than you could damage him. Maybe just maybe, we was moving and you didn't actually hit him 100 percent of the time.
Or you lost, so it was probably hacks.
