Sloop FIX please!

  • Don't know if others have an issue with this but I'm finding the interior of the Sloop to be:

    1. Too dark as the lamps fail to do even a passing job.

They leave many a shadowed area and corner which compounds,

    1. Hidden leakages.

I'm finding my Sloop is always taking on water but no matter where I look I can't find the leak. I mean spending 20mins searching for a leak on a ship the size of the Sloop is just ridiculous!

Sea of Thieves please look into this issue because it is preventing me from even playing this game!

P.S I spent so much time looking that another crew found me and stole a whole hrs loot just because I couldn't find a stupid leak on the Sloop!

  • @newguyaustralia i agree it is a tad dark lol. and on the sloop, usually theres up to like 4 holes in the bottom of the ship, and i think by the map on each side are 2 more places holes can be

This sounds more like a monitor calibration issue. I can see fine in the Sloop even without lanterns, and nobody else seems to have this problem.
By the way, if it's raining, some of the water will end up in your boat. So you don't necessarily have a leak when there's a bit of water in there.

  • I personally have never issues finding a leak.

When i see water in my sloop i always check in the lower side of the ship first. These are critical leaks and easy to spot (use your lantern if its to dark). When i find no leaks, but still water i'll check near the card table and window.

Under the window is the hardest one and you can overlook it. But don't rush, take your time :)

  • @newguyaustralia the leak was probably in the back, that way it only slowly fills your ship with water. Happened to me too.

  • Only issue I have with the sloop is that when viewing the map at night with all lanterns off the screen slowly fades to complete black. Initially I can read island names / see everything fine, but it slowly starts to fade after a minute or so. Until I can hear the map scrolling etc but can't see a damn thing. If I leave the map and re-use it it fixes it for a short time, then it slowly fades to complete black again.

Not sure if it's been fixed yet, will check again next time I play - if I remember.

  • @drbullhammer Thanks but I already tried the lantern. Was the first thing I did honestly because this isn't the first time I've had trouble finding a leak.

Have an up-vote for simply leaving a comment and trying to help!

  • @ktingaling Thank you for the advice about checking from outside the ship but ill never know where that leak is now.

I've had a leak before now where it was half under the floor boards at the back of the ship by the map table and that took a while to find because it wasn't always gushing water.

I Just think Sea of Thieves needs to work out better indicators for players and provide hints and tips when a leak hasn't been fixed or found.

Could be a simple popup stating that a leak is still on the ship or a highlighting of the hole if left un-patched for an extended period of time.

  • I sometimes have that happen - you get a leak, fix it, but somehow the water never seems to completely go away. Every time I go down into the hold, I can hear water splashing when I walk - but nothing I could scoop up in a bucket....
