A Tutorial

I completely agree. I literally just started playing the game, and have NO idea what to do, where to go, how to even play.
There's no map hud on screen, no health bar, nothing to help me figure out how to play the game at all, no pointers, no tutorial objectives. I'm just dropped in with no screen help, and it's maddening, for a game that looked awesome on the trailers.
And this comes from a gamer who loves most games and plays passionately and rarely complains.

Like....i know how to access my inventory things now. That's explained on screen, but where's the map of the world? How do i know where i am, look at the places i can go? Put a waypoint down to where i want to go?

I saw a person waving in the sea and thought it was a drowning person, so swam out, clicked and was tp'd to an island that had little to nothing of any value on it, and there was no clear reason for me to be there. Found a seamans chest, that i could pick up, but not open. Have no idea what to do with it....
Worse still, with no world map to look at, i can't find my way back to the island i started on, or figure out where i am. Er.
I finally figured out how to sail my damn boat but the lack of a mini-map and health bar is unnerving, and the lack of any tutorial means i'm a wandering noob that knows next to nothing.
There definitely needs to be a tutorial, and/or a tutorial quest for beginners to help them get started, and to help them learn what to do, how to do everything.
