Fix hitmarkers, they actually don't mean anything

  • Hitmarkers in this game are basically useless because they don't actually mean you've HIT the person. What they mean is; IF you were playing at 0 PING that shot WOULD'VE landed and done damage. Unfortunately the lowest ping I get is 100 or (depending on the matchmaking) 300, and this basically means I have no indication of whether my shots are landing or not and I have no idea how far I have to lead ahead of my targets if I want to hit them. I've 1 shot people before with the blunderbuss when I wasn't even aiming at them, didn't even get a hitmarker. Based on my experience, this leads to any player to player combat just involving dudes running around with a blunderbuss hoping for a one shot. No skill or technique required. I wish I could use the pistol or sniper but it's just too unreliable. I once got about 6 hitmarkers on a guy with the pistol on our ship, he never healed but never died either. This was a 300 ping server.

  • @coeliterookie i love hit markers. it gives an amazing satisfaction to knowing if your shot counted or not and can help you improve your shooting.

Did you not read the OP? I too have been experiencing this. I did 3 back to back snipes on a guy and he lived. Another guy I sniped, pistol, sniped while he was on a cannon and he lived....

  • @aardvarkhell I have noticed this with skeletons. While on cannons it appears that the hit marker also applies if the shooter hits the cannon and not the player or the damage is reduced if players or skeletons are on cannons.
